Can I interrupt the obnoxious piling on to say that it is a bad situation when the user option to make a better game is in opposition to online competition ability. We've all been in situations where the obviously better choice in terms of game design if everyone selected it is a no-go for one person to. Do you think labels are a good thing? Of course not. But try having a good time when you're the only person not using them.

Is there not a way to force certain rules on servers? I seem to recall there was a way to do this....

Not sure exactly what you're saying, Frederf. I'm talking about stuff like in BMS where the guy who sets up the server can FORCE certain rules to be followed on the client's end before that client can connect. So for example, the server can FORCE the rule that labels are not allowed.... Surely DCS also has such an option??

I think the server forces the rules to client, and when playing offline your own settings are intact.

You can enforce more with scripts but we do not need to get into that here

As well as you can enforce some graphics settings too

Even a downloaded mission will enforce it's own set of rules, regardless of what the client settings are.

So that is what happen when I flew with you dogfighting. You were with 3% unlimited fuel, unlimited weapons and I was flopping around like an old crow with 75% fuel.

As we all know, player numbers online in DCS isnt exactly huge, and certain times of day most servers are dead, so im forced to places sometimes just because i lack others to play with, so Im forced into these servers with those visebility settings, and i guess it suck for the rest of you that they removed the ugliness from them, but for me, i love it, more servers to play on for me and now im on even ground.. Call me selfish, i dont care, but im very pleased with the change😃

Id like too add, no one is forcing me, but im forcing myself into unpleasant things sometimes. Guess i only can blame myself,,,still being forced though...

So please stop forcing yourself to force yourself to play on these servers. You've never been forced to do anything in your life so don't allow yourself to force yourself in doing things you wouldn't do yourself! biggrin biggrin biggrin

And maybe look at joining a virtual squadron with the same values that you hold dear --- that way, you'll get your flying under terms more acceptable to you.

You can play on bad servers or you can play single player.

So, I fired up DCS yesterday, due to my anticipation of BoBp. I just wanted to fly the P51. I found the performance in Normandy had improved a hell of a lot not perfect but a big improvement. I took the K4 out over the channel and was actually blown away by the water (ultra setting or whatever the highest is). External views of the aircraft, down low, close to the water was very impressive. DAMN I thought ED have done a f@cking great job here. So I decide to make a quick ground attack mission. Threw a few trucks down, waypoints on the road. Loaded up the P51 with rockets and away I went. Couldn't see a thing. I knew where they were because I made the mission. It was impossible to see those trucks. Every road in Normandy Is bordered by trees. Forgot to say I'm playing this in VR. It's Impossible. So I decide to try it out on Nevada. Textures are still pretty poor in Nevada have to say. Anyway, trucks on a road in the desert should be pretty easy to spot right? Nope. They "pop in" at exactly 1km. There are some great thing with DCS but this has to change. I understand one can customize the icons? I haven't played for a while and don't frequent the forums so would appreciate any help on that. That's not ideal but it's necessary due to the 1k pop that makes straifing truck convoys an exercise in eye strain.
