Robert, you are faster on the draw! Welcome aboard, JimBobb, I would recommend running vanilla for a bit to make sure everything is kosher and get a feel for it before mods.
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

where did you get the above link from. All you had to do was click on the line I provided and it would have launched properly. It does for me. Here is the the actual link if you want to capture it and plunk it into your browser: http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4140216/woff-software-install-order

Jimbobb first welcome to Woff, I know you are a real dedicated combat flysim fan. Do read all the pinned topics you find here in the forum and read the FAQ at http://www.overflandersfields.com/index.html go to the support tab. Now this is what I did install on order Woff UE skin pack music pack upgrade 4.15 patch add albatros skin pack It seem the Woff site is down on my Ipad, so wait a half hour and normally it is free. Try first to optimize your game before running any mod.

What is the mission editor and what is it for ?
It's exactly that..a mission editor and it lets you edit your missions All you need to know about it can be found in the mission editor thread in the mods section.

What mods are recommended ? All of them! I kid, I kid. Seriously, there are so many good mods it is hard to name them all. I would definitely name JJJ65's mission editor as an essential mod because it opens up so many other possibilities in the game. For instance, in order to get the appropriate planes for a given historical period to appear at various aerodromes, you need the ME. Certain features of my cloud mod only work when used along with the ME. There is a bit of a learning curve to using the ME, but Robert_Wiggins has written a tutorial that explains a lot of the capabilities of the ME very nicely. Adger named most of the other mods, including the consolidated airfields mod and 40LOM's texture mods, that I consider to be "must-have" mods for WOFF.

Welcome to the forum, FalkeEins!
With the mission editor, you can either leave the weather alone and let the ME handle it, or configure it on your own. You have the flexibility to do either one or even some mixture between the two.
Don't be concerned that the ME will change the weather to make it "ahistorical." The ME does not alter the weather chosen by the sim for that day. When the weather screen pops up, simply select if you want to implement "BuckeyeBob's horizon fix" (recommended), and then click apply. The wind direction and wind speed will automatically be based on the weather already pre-selected by WOFF for that day. Of course, if you want to increase or decrease the speed of the wind, you can do that in the fields above before pushing the apply button.
The weather type selected for a particular day (Good, Light, Medium, Variable, Heavy, or Precipitation) comes directly from the OFFHistoricalWeather file for the years 1915-1918. Unfortunately, the CFS3 game engine throws in a bit of randomness to the type of weather you may experience on a specific day, so it is hard to exactly duplicate the type of weather that actually existed on a particular day from 1915 to 1918. Plus, the weather records back then were pretty spotty, so it's hard to know exactly what the weather was like on each day of the war.

I believe that the horizon fix button and the apply weather changes are separate. If you select the horizon fix but choose the "No thanks" button instead of the "Apply" button, the horizon will be "fixed" but the weather will stay with stock WOFF values. You will still get my clouds if you are using the cloud mod, but the horizon fog color, the wind direction, the wind speed, and a few other variables will stay with WOFF values. Of course, to get the full effect of my cloud mod (a wider variety of sky colors, clouds, wind speeds and directions) click "Apply" at the bottom of the pop-up weather manager screen. Note: before clicking "Apply" you can still choose your own wind speed and direction if you so choose. Personally, I like to leave the wind direction up to the mod, but I do occasionally change the wind speed settings. If you want a real challenge, try setting the wind to 15 knots or more!
