I still have a few more years before retirement (of any sort).
I have emailed Ken O'Brian mentioning that I thought we would need more space this time around. Ken responded, due to the sunlight issues affecting TrackIR he will check to see if he can have our own tent for ROF and WOFF. (Have not been able to switch him over yet.) Speaking of this issue, please see my a post I will make shortly about EdTracker.
My pit is currently undergoing more revisions, but I plan to bring the triple monitor / VKB Gunfighter Pro setup. My friend James should have his new setup there also he is running a 4K monitor. We are planning on renting a truck as this stuff will no longer fit in my SUV.
Last time our presentation of WOFF was mostly ad-hoc. I hope we have a discussion here of the best way to present WOFF.

If I can get things arranged I will be making the trek to Dayton next year again as well. Last year was a blast! And, at this next one, if all goes according to plan, I'll be two months away from retirement - WOOO HOOO!

I'm going! I plan having a 1/4 scale DH-5, two 1/5 Fokker Drls and, possibly, a 1/4 scale Hansa Brandenberg KD 'Starstrutter' and 1/6 scale Macchi M5 seaplane (with some hidden? wheels).

I have a questions for those of you who have been there before? How handicap accessible is it? I have an uncle who'd love to go, but is stuck in either a wheel chair or scooter these days.

It is on a grassy field next to a runway. There are no paved areas. The last time it had rained quite a bit before the show but the field held up good. We had to give a push to some of the heavy food vending trucks. But I had no problems driving on the grass. There are vendors and exhibitors in tents (no floors).
The AF Museum is not within walking distance, it is on the other side of the airfield.
The show is in the red area belown.

What would folks here like to see at Dayton: a 1/4 scale Hansa Brandenburg KD 'Starstrutter' (~82" span) or a 1/6 scale Aviatik C-I (~84" span)? I'm going to start drawing plans and cutting wood very soon! I like them both but, alas, can only build one at a time due to space constraints.

Do they have some water to fly it from? I don't recall seeing any in 2015.

No water, just a large grassy area. No float Hansa! That thing was a terrible flying airplane with wheels and I can only imagine what a handful the float version was! It's either the Hansa Brandenburg 'Starstrutter' or the Aviatik C-I. You never see models like the Hansa and two-holers aren't very 'romantic' from a 'would be' fighter pilot's perspective. They really deserve being modeled more often! I will build both but which will be first? The tension builds.......

ARUP, being a B/R man at heart I would prefer to see you direct your attention and talent towards the Aviatik. As bizarrely cool as the Starstrutter is I'd much rather get a close-up look at the C-I.

I have been invited to attend a planning meeting on Tuesday the 19th for the 2018 Rendezvous. Not sure what the content will be, but thought I would ask the forum to see if there are any topics you would like be to bring up.
One suggestion is a dedicated tent for the simulators - (WOFF / rof) to allow for better control of ambient light so there is less interference for TrackIR. More space will be another, I would hope to have a better presentation area where more features of WOFF could be shown. Some of you experts talking about creating / managing pilots, their careers, the different planes, all the flight groups for all the nations.
Any other thoughts to showcase WOFF?

Thanks for your feedback.
