My 'Waiting for Clod' thread: http://tinyurl.com/bqxc9eeAlways take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.Elie Wiesel. Romanian born Jewish writer, professor, political activist, Nobel Laureate, Holocaust survivor. 1928 - 2016. Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one - the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts. C.S. Lewis, 1898 - 1963.

Seems like he just wanted to be himself and only when the guy called and asked to wish him Happy Birthday did the world find out.

He died back in May, and only now they make it public. Must have had a lot of cleanup to do. Nope. There was an obscure Russian paper that reported it back in May, it's just that nobody else took notice until some friends from Germany made the annual birthday phone call and learned about it, then went on to let the world know.
