Hi All,
This is my build of the Great Wall Hobby 1/144 Victor, showing an aircraft at Ascension Island in 1982 supporting the Vulcan Op. Black Buck raids on Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands. A brilliant little kit, with awful decals! I've got their Vulcan to build to go alongside it at some point.

UNDERSTEER - is when you hit the wall with the front wing.
OVERSTEER - is when you hit the wall with the back wing.
HORSEPOWER - is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE - is how far you can take the wall with you.

Cheers gang!

Flying Toaster - Yes, the camo is airbrushed, using white tack worms for masking.

How big is that thing? Might be nice to have one pic with a ruler beside it for scale. I have a feeling this is a big model?

Hi Ice,
It's back in the cabinet now, but I worked out the wingspan. It's 1/144 scale, so 9.1 inches tip to tip.

It's the towbar it ataches to the front wheel and then to a tractor to pull/push the aircraft

Thanks for that info goon!! I've really no idea how big 1/144 or any scale is, but I can easily understand 9.1 inches.... I'm assuming that's the length of each side? Or did you mean tip-to-tip as in diagonally? Either way, it's not very big, eh? Great work!

Wing span is 110 ft 0 in

Divide that number by 12.

1/144 is 1" per 144" or 12' full scale

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Thanks for the explanation! I never thought of it that way before!

Very nice looking and detailed especially for that scale. The Victor always had a kind of 70s to 80s Sci Fi look to it, like something out of Battletech.

Thanks for the further comments everyone. The Victor always makes me think of Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds designs Sputnik.
