Wow. No love lost between the French and the British huh? Shhh! if you say you are Scottish then it is a different matter, the difference in treatment is quite astounding. I remember it from my first trip to France in 1966, the French were quite hostile towards us until they found out we were Scottish and then we were treated like long lost relatives, it was really quite amazing, I noticed it and I was only 10 at the time. It is still the same, as of this year when I went out shopping in a small French town with a friend and we got treated very off hand, but when they seen my passport was from Scotland it was all big grins and they could not do enough for you. Such is life
