It's like the French rescue aircraft in St Maarten that would not take any UK citizens.

Shhh! if you say you are Scottish then it is a different matter, the difference in treatment is quite astounding. I remember it from my first trip to France in 1966, the French were quite hostile towards us until they found out we were Scottish and then we were treated like long lost relatives, it was really quite amazing, I noticed it and I was only 10 at the time.

It is still the same, as of this year when I went out shopping in a small French town with a friend and we got treated very off hand, but when they seen my passport was from Scotland it was all big grins and they could not do enough for you.

Such is life biggrin

The world has passed me by.... again.

I am leaving it as I found it. Take over. It's yours.

seems CEO's of large transport companies are out of touch these days. a lot of bad decision making and bad PR. united's ceo reaction to the passenger beating was pretty wild.

meh - good lessons for those who are up and coming. they'll devour idiots like this.

Unfortunately, this may have been the right move by the Marriot company. They needed to look out for their guests first and fulfill their contract to get them to the airport on the next island.

It sucks and might be a PR disaster but it probably the right move legally for them. If they take those passengers on they are legally responsible for them. It sucks but that is the world we live in now.

And we as its creators don't feel ready to hear your annoyed jabber about it.

Besides, it was risky to go there during hurricane season and they waited until the last minute before evacuating after the Harvey, Iris, and Jose warnings in advanced.

I guess I won't book with Marriott ever again. Guests or not, when an emergency is at hand, the rules should go out the window, and saving those in need should take precedent. Disgusting behavior by the crew.
