I used to put images into some postings and I used Photobucket to host my pictures. Now they want to charge for that service and they disabled all of the previous pictures. I am trying to get that ability back again so this thread is sort of a lab test. This is put in front of the picture It looks Like it is working to some extent This is posted after the picture [Linked Image FILLER</div>

OK That seems to work

Now PHOTO-Bucket can go and ***** Since I used old recruiting signs for the test, there is no sense in wasting them

I think Photobucket shot themselves in the foot with this new business plan.

I'm active on a classic car forum. The members have tons and tons of rebuild and how-to pictures in sticky threads. ALL of them are gone and as far as I can tell everyone feels the same way. Screw 'em.

So, how did you get these pictures to show here?

Heck, even paranoids have enemies.

I agree, nearly all of my postings are gone too. There was a short time we could upload images directly to our threads. I guess security needs stopped this practice.

And, same question as Ray. How?

Some time ago at MarkEAW's suggestion I started an account with MediaFire for my EAW downloads. This was because MS had restricted the free space available at OneDrive. When SimHQ stopped us uploading to their site I started uploading pictures to a folder at MediaFire, getting a link and posting the link here:

It is a bit fiddly. You need to view the pic at MediaFire, then right click on it and copy the image URL to paste in your post here. However, it works wink

The program that I am using is called POSTIMAGE. It is sort of a bare bones program and there is not much in the line of instructions but it is not hard to figure out. It is really designed for posting on forums. It is simple, fast and efficient. For my purposes, it is much better than PhotoBucket.

You can Google Postimage or you can use this http://postimages.org/

I have most of my images stored somewhere on my computer. I was able to replace some blocked postings with stuff from Tiny-Pic, but that is controlled by photobucket and I can’t trust them now. I downloaded my pictures from Photobucket. I had to do it one picture at a time. They are supposed to have a feature to download an album but it doesn’t work. I titled this posting theme as SCAM! Here is why! Twice while I was trying to down load files from PhotoBucket site, the operation became baulky and erratic. I started to get all sorts of ads. To make it short, I got a large notice stating “WINDOWS DEFENDER ALERT ZEUS VIRUS DETECTED ON YOUR COMPUTER”. There was more but it seemed that my browser and the computer were locked up. I got my laptop and I was able to get online via the wireless on the router. I Googled the warning and I got a lot of hits advising that this was a scam. I used “Bleeping Computer” for directions on how to handle it. I was able to get control of my infected desktop back again . I have a large library of Anti-Malware programs and most cleaning processes advise a whole menu of programs to run. I ran the prescribed routines and it seems like the initial problem was the only thing infected. I do not think that I will visit the PHOTOBUCKET site again. The flashing ads that I saw were the usual low level skin and porn stuff. That site is not owned/operated by high class characters.

I checked out the possibilities of reposting images that have been blocked by PhotoBucket. I found that I could do it on the active forum posts i.e. 2009 through to the present. Unfortunately the postings in the Archives are blocked and no remedy is possible.

This is what I got when I opened the edit function on the post with the blocked picture

The picture above is the POSTIMAGE control panel. You can see the pic that is being installed. The window with URL in it is the address that we want to use. Click the copy button to the right. Now go into the SimHQ post that we are working on and delete the entire URL address with photobucket in it and replace it by pasting the POSTIMAGE address that you copied from the control panel. If you go into the Posting that I tested, you can see that the image is the recruiting image that was there before it got blocked. We didn’t undo the blockage, we replaced it with a new copy
