I finally watched this last night and for the most part I liked it. I don't know if it's my age or maybe me finally getting a bit tired of the comic book genre but I found some of the action scenes to be so over the top and ridiculous that it almost seemed like a parody.

I think the main issue with the second film is that it was very consciously trying to out-do the previous film. Bigger action scenes, more action scenes, more of everything. It was too deliberate imho.
