I am starting to have problems with my Win 7 pro 64. It started with my trackIR crashing. Then I reinstalled win 7 pro (upgrade so I wouldn't loose everything). That cleared the SFC problems but still have some random crashes of applications when I click on them. I can't even load IE11 and am stuck with IE8. Its so frustrating. I am worried if I upgrade to Win 10 I may have to reinstall everything.

To be honest, the best way to install Win 10 is with a clean install, and not installing it over a previous O/S. IMO anyway.Especially one that appears to be giving errors.

I would research your hardware and make sure there are drivers for Win 10 O/S however you may not need any anyway. Win 10 has only ever failed to find the card reader drivers for my laptop and those I can easily get direct from the Realtek web-site.

Of course you can upgrade and see what happens. If it all becomes a bit of a mess you have 30 days to return to your previous O/S and re-think what you are going to do. Personally,I've never had Win 10 mess up during an upgrade.

I would not upgrade to Win10 just in the hopes of fixing TIR. I would recommend a clean install of Win7 though... clean wipe, start fresh again. I usually do this every 12-24 months on my PC just to get rid of any junk.

If you do upgrade to Win10, start with the Anniversary Edition. I've had issues with Creator's Update especially for simming and using my touchscreens, so I just went back to Win10AE. Some people are happy with Win10CU and have no issues with CU but I'm not one of them.

I agree with Chucky and Ice that no matter if you want to keep Win 7 or 10 a full clean install is the best way,,,Win 10 didn't play nice on my machine and win 7 was acting up..so did a full factory install of win 7 and paid close attention to what I was installing utility wise and it's running sweet now....If your trackIR was working OK before it might not be an OS issue might me a software conflict
