Major League Baseball is realizing that young kids today aren't into baseball like earlier generations. I think the average age of the MLB viewer is 55 years old. Soccer is really challenging them as far as the next generation. The town I grew up in had dozens of baseball fields and a very strong city wide youth baseball program. Now they don't have one at all. Nothing. Plenty of soccer fields though. I haven't seen a pickup game of baseball in a field full of kids in twenty years. Same goes for football and street hockey. The idea of having MLB players interact with the LLWS was a good idea, but they need to do more.
