BiG10's tough. Hope my Buck's pull it off, but there's only one game that really matters, and that's the last game of the regular season.

I love this time of year because I can watch football if I want to. But I also hate this time of year because I dont want football forced down my throat like I know it will be. Facebook and etc is going to be hard to live with for a while.

Their defense did too. It's good to see even matches in the start of the season. Been a while.

Go Bronco's !!! I think the Michigan uni's were more of a mustard color.

The NFL is a snooze fest compared to college ball.

We agree on that LB! Nothing in sport compares to college football.

The first round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs is like a religious event to me, but college football is a close second. biggrin

Ya, forgot you live closer to the Arctic Circle than I do. I'll give you that,

Growing up in Ohio where I lived (way back than), you rooted for Woody on Saturday, and the Brownies on Sunday.
One taught you courage, the other taught you humility.

An ugly win is still a win. Prayers for Francois, too. Freak injury.

I may not care much for college football, but I'm not going to turn down a day of free beer and jambalaya/BBQ tailgating with tickets (courtesy of wife's company)! readytoeat

We're guessing we walked between 5 and 6 miles yesterday (8 - 9.5 km), almost 3 miles of that round-trip just from car (furthest Mississippi River levee parking area) to stadium and back (path on third pic).

Next Saturday evening (without a day of beer and sausage) we'll be at the top of the nosebleed section (fourth pic), going to get a great leg workout as we explore the peaks of this monster stadium (not the biggest in college football but seats 102,321 according to Wikipedia).

For every other team in college football, there are three words you should never say:

WE WANT BAMA

boom

Had a really good time last night, we like the nosebleed section. It's cheaper, quieter, cooler, and you can see what the marching band is doing (even if upside down, apparently they rotate sides every other home game).

Yeah, LSU lost (and to a Div. 1, now 3-2) but we're there mostly for the exercise and live music. smile

Troy is no joke, that's for sure. Not all "cupcake" teams are cupcakes, after all.

The Tide managed to squeak by Ole Miss; our defense has some work to do, though.

Well, except for Oklahoma. :-) Alabama is the best team in the nation, but in a one shot deal, Oklahoma has the offensive tools to beat Alabama due to x factors such as Riey's play-calling ,Mayfield's wizardry, their versatile H-back in Flowers and their tight-end in Andrews can take away a lot of what Alabama likes to do defensively with their linebackers. They also have a lot of versatility in their running backs in terms of style with Adams and Sermon and a very good receiving corps. Their defense is suspect though although when facing a competent foe, they did step up against Ohio St. in The Shoe.

I'm not sure on Clemson yet, I like their defense, but their offensive performance against Auburn has me wondering still.

Oklahoma is a good team, no doubt.

And Alabama isn't invincible, that's for sure. Every good Bama fan goes into every game thinking we can lose; it's built into our DNA.

That said, The Tide doesn't rely on "x factors." It just plays solid ball in all three phases - offense, defense, and special teams - and tries to execute each as best they can on every play. "Trickeration" is not something one will hear from an announcer when it comes to Alabama.

Permit me a wry grin at the notion that The Tide is a "one shot deal" sort of team. smile

A lot of people here in Michigan think the Wolverines are going to get a chance at Bama in the BCS. I know the hype of a Sabban / Harbough match up would be huge for TV ratings.

I would like to see the whole BCS, Bowl game things just go away. Just have a playoff just like the NFL (and every other sport). Get rid of of the conference championship games, they are useless

There is too much of a "dead zone" after the regular season until the good bowl games. The good players are now deciding not to play, unless is is a BCS game.
