So I hear that Brian Aldiss died early on Saturday, a sad day for me. He was one of my favourites of the old-time sci-fi authors. I still own every book that I ever bought, and there are many Aldiss books in that collection.

In fact, of the few books I actually have with me right now in the Czech Republic, 3 of them are Aldiss's Helliconia trilogy, a set of books I have already read some 4 or 5 times now.

Helliconia was truly remarkable.

The first book of his I read was Non-Stop. It truly fascinated me at the time. I re-read it many years later and thoroughly enjoyed it all over again.

Read all his books and loved them. I too remember Non Stop as an early read. His autobiography is well worth reading.

Never even heard of him. Well, I'll have to remedy that. The Helliconia Trilogy is only $4.00 in the Kindle edition, so I'll start there. Nonstop is $10.49 so it will wait a couple of weeks. Thanks for the mention, but sorry about the circumstances.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

Non stop was one of the very earliest generation ship novels.

"You'll never take me alive" said he,
And his ghost may be heard if you pass by that billabong
"Who'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me?"
