Hi All,

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday. I wanted to share a YouTube channel with you that I think you'll enjoy. It's called Mr.Aviation101 and I've really enjoyed his work flying his Cessna. I haven't been to Oshkosh myself but I would desperately like to attend one day. This video is slightly different from his usual uploads and features the flight to the airshow and some of the happenings around it this year.

If you check out his channel there are some great long play videos of him flying, working with ATC, and just gaining experience. As an aspiring flyer myself, I really like watching him work through the processes of flying.

And with that, I'm going to take my mug of tea and fire up WOFF!

Hello CaptSopwith....I finally had the chance to check out your video...pretty cool!

My dad used to be a pilot. He owned a Cessna 337, and then downsized to a Cessna 152....I flew with him a few times in the 337, including over Lake Michigan from Wisconsin...this video reminds me of the passion he had for it...he had to quit for a few reasons, probably health being the primary reason (he's fine, but has some underlying issues).

Concerning Oshkosh, it is really neat and BIG! I've been four times (of course much easier living only two hours away). This year (as I mentioned in a recent thread) they had very little in the way of WWI-era aircraft; I feel that is a shame, escpcially in light of the idea that the planes from the 1910s were so experimental in their own ways....but I know it is not as "sexy" as B-29s and F-22s zooming around. I sent in my 2 cents via survey, and hope for more WWI stuff in the future....I wish you well in your flying endeavors!

Regards,

Jeff

That is a cool vid! Oshkosh is pretty cool! As Jeff said there isn't much with regards to Edwardian and WWI aircraft. I'm a fan of most fixed wing aircraft (autogyros are cool!) before WWII, especially civvy birds, so have plenty to see. Reno is a really cool venue. I have some friends that are NASCAR fans so I bust their chops comparing speeds and horsepower!

Glad you enjoyed it! As someone with an interest in general aviation I really enjoy watching his channel and seeing how he flies.
