Thanks for sharing!
Upcoming missile performance change @00:57:00
so.... after the hornet EA they may change missile performance with NEW missile engineer they hired?
Available data and it's interpretation made by FORMER missile engineer made a gap of the missile performance between what community think is realistic, they say.
I personally think missile always do "lead pursuit" with no energy conservation in mind is the very problem than range itself but at least change is coming, which is good to know.

@nadal. I think ED is really thinking long term for the series. My fear is what happened to Spectrum Holobyte and the Falcon 3 series. SH had long term plans for Falcon 3 and the Electronic Battlefield series but things did not play out.

@Genbrien: Syran over at Mudspike shared the following bullet points, based on his "take aways":

it takes about 4 to 6 years to create something on the level of the F/A-18 or the A-10C.
about 12 to 18 months to create a warbird.
It is hoped to create maps that support every conflict DCS represents.
There are hopes for DCS level tanks someday, but not soon.
An AH-64 is more likely a case of 'when' rather than a case of 'if'. For now both ED and BST have other priorities though.
collidable trees are coming to the updated Caucasus .
More multicrew aircraft are coming "it's in the future, it's coming" don't know if this just refers to the F-14 and BO-105, F-4E and Mi-24 or also other stuff.
Multicrew is coming to UH-1H and Mi-8MTV2.
There are considerations to make the TF-51 multicrew.
The updated damage models might one day seep through to ground vehicles.
Wags could not answer anything else than "things will change" when asked about multithreading.
overwing/LEX vapor for the hornet is on the to-do list.
Wags mentions the SLAM-ER, Laser version of the HARM (??? maybe he ment the laser version of the mav?)
The sounds for the F/A-18 are coming directly from Boeing.
SPJ's (Self protection Jammers) might be coming to all modern aircraft (that have them) rather than just the barrage jammers they have right now.
Wags admits the complication, being Russian based, developing full fidelity Russian aircraft.
New explosions and new clouds are in the works.
Dynamic campaign is more of a "when" rather than an "if". But wags admits not having the staff to do it right now to do it on a level that would meet their expectations.

---------------
I thought it was an insightful Q&A. Naturally, opinions will vary.

If you have been following DCS closely, there is absolutely nothing new that was said in the video. Almost all of the things Matt has said there, have been said at least a year ago, probably more, including the new specialist hired for working on missile dynamics.

So I'd say "all quiet on ED front" smile.

I suppose we'll see how things go after 2.5 merge, which can't happen soon enough.

Also, nice one Monnie Rock, gave me a good chuckle biggrin

Edit: BTW, don't get me wrong, not saying they aren't working on those things, I'm sure they do, just nothing in the video is news, manjority of things discussed, were also known at least a year ago. I'm just reaaaaly hoping that whole 2.5 merge thing will bring at least some stability finally. Which is probably more wishful thinking than a carefully considered thought smile.

I think missile improvement after EA release is new.
Also I think former missile engineer is who made AFM missile we have now...?

Nope, it was shared at least a year or two ago that missile dynamics will be looked into, and a new specialist was being hired for the job.

The banjo player.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

And when did they start the Hornet? It should be at least 2-3 years now, as it was supposed to be in beta last year
It is hoped to create maps that support every conflict DCS represents.
Oh god, how long does each map take?
There are hopes for DCS level tanks someday, but not soon.
An AH-64 is more likely a case of 'when' rather than a case of 'if'. For now both ED and BST have other priorities though.
And here is proof that ED have no clue how to prioritize things. The AH-64, of any variant, could easily be a great money maker for them, but it's a case of "when"??
Multicrew is coming to UH-1H and Mi-8MTV2.
"Multicrew is a case of "when" rather than a case of "if"".... there, fixed it for you!
Dynamic campaign is more of a "when" rather than an "if". But wags admits not having the staff to do it right now to do it on a level that would meet their expectations.
Wow! Again, no clue how to prioritize things. A DC could silence **A LOT** of the dissatisfied players and could bring back a lot of others.... those on the fence may well commit due to the DC.... but this is not a priority?

Have yet to watch the video but have already downloaded it....

Monnie, thanks for that epic pic!! smile

Perfect Picture so many +1s

DCS Kickstarter
Wags July 2014 "In this July 2014 update, the primary news is in regards to the restructured backer rewards. After a careful review of the older system under RRG, we found it financially unattainable."
Wags October 2017 "the investment vs. generated revenue has been excellent for the World War II aircraft. In fact, the P-51D Mustang has twice the cost effectiveness of the A-10C Warthog."

Yes you should be good for years as it does take them years to produce anything.

Yes i agree! a good thing they dont release new modules so often because it takes a long time to learn each new plane/chopper! And so damn easy to forget when i dont have time to fly for a week or two:) but i enjoy learning and doing research on the individual planes. I find this as an complex sim, always something to learn and thats why ive been with it for many years, if it was simple and easy to learn i would probably have been bored of it years ago.
