A friend of mine laughed at the fact that I called him in order to answer a text he sent me.

"I sent you a text, why didn't you just send one back? That's why we have cell phones."

Texts are the way our friends tell us "I want to communicate, but I do not want to hear your voice".

Although I have no idea how to send a text without simply replying to one with a canned response, it serves as a nice backup when a call doesn't go through (I never set up voice mail), which is why I do pseudo texting.

Typical text received is, "I'm here. Take your pills." Short and to the point.

Text's are for when you don't have time for a long drawn out conversation.
