His impersonation of the late Bela Lugosi will be unforgotten, although the tentacle fight was both hilarous and somewhat heart-wrenching at the same time. An Oscar well deserved.

RIP George, not many people get to invent a whole genre. Vampires=Stoker, Frankenstein=Shelley, Zombies=Romero. Of course many people these days miss the social commentary he interwove to his stories.
