Anyone aware of this? Apparently coming to Netflix in 2018.

Info from a friend of a friend involved in shooting.

I never saw the original 60's show but unfortunately I saw that horrible film adaptation from 1998. I had no idea about this latest reboot. I'll have to look into it!

The one where Dr. Smith is a woman? Good luck with that.

NOTE: Don't have anything against a woman scientist, or villainess. Just tired of reboots that gender bend the known characters so they can be seen as "edgy" and have "innovative' writing. BSG pulled it off. I can't think anyone else that have done so. And they never change female characters to men...hmmm.

The original series was a favourite of mine as a lad. The subsequent movie was ok-ish I suppose.

+1

BSG was very unique in many ways and they most definitely did succeed in changing Starbuck, Boomer and Admiral Cain to women.

Seems to be some strong opinions of the franchise! I've managed to avoid the film though.

The only thing I know of this new production is it features a hoodie (zip up hooded fleece jacket ) with led lighting sewn in the zip and hood. Looked pretty good actually!

Yes! As a kid watching the reruns in the 80's, it was a highlight of Sunday mornings. I was the perfect age to enjoy it.
So the question is: should they stick to that level or does it ruin it to make it more adult oriented? I don't think you can replicate the innocent awe of 50's-60's scifi, so I assume this will be more drama and mature.
Dr. Smith as a woman doesn't bother me, everyone knows how conniving females are to begin with! Perfectly suited. wink
I'm looking forward to it. They can't ruin the original material, it's locked away in time and safe.

I liked the movie up until the time travel element ruined it. As usual.
