Skins are a mapping issue. Every part needs to be mapped to a section and assure the sections don't cross over.

I can help skin it, I've got nothing on my plate as of now.

I just need it to be selectable in QC so I can see the results in the game

Thanks OV and Raine

OV, do you have any flight model data that you can share regarding the Maurice Farm and MF7?

Negative, I never got into that side of the game. You can ask Shredward. He probably does, or can get it.

Just to give an update....

I have permission to use a few planes inside WOFF. I'll post a list of which ones soon.

These are 15 year old models, so they will not be up to OBD's beauty, but will look ok when done.

They can fly inside WOFF if you are comfortable with editing the campaign mission file. There is no other way to get them into WOFF without OBD's permission and help. However, the cockpit view and spinning propeller are still not ready.

Also, they can be static planes to pepper the current airfields... with Panama's help, of course.

They can be made into AI controllable planes and inserted into campaign missions to fly with or against.

Was it mentioned where these models are from?
I have a guess but missed an "official statement" in this thread unless the info is on the downlow.

15? Wow... that's amazing. Can't wait to see the list.

Also, adding these as AI non-flyable is not such a bad thing. It will still add to the depth of the game and provide plenty of visual to be enjoyed.

Better to leave as AI rather than have something that gives you all kinds of headaches trying to make it work.

Just my 2 cents.

OV I hate it when you guys in the US can get your "two cents" worth in! The Canadian government took all our cents away and left us to up our anti to five cents! I can only surmise that our government was short of sense (cents) and needed all the cents that the general public was in possession of! biggrin

I wish that the US would do the same thing. In my opinion, pennies are annoying and virtually worthless. I just toss the ones that I receive now.

If my bill is $10.67 and I give the cashier $11.02 it just baffles them.

Putting together our own little Skunkworks are we?

This is great news! Maybe we will finally be able to fill in some of the aircraft that are currently AWOL in WOFFUE.

Personally, I have been hoping for the Salmson2a to be a part of WOFF for a long time. I am willing to work on the FM for it if someone can send me some info about dimensions and performance. I also noticed you have a model for the HP 0/400. I might be able to work on the FM for that as well, although I would probably feel more comfortable working on the HP 0/100 instead.

Finally OldHat, does anyone have a model for the Sopwith Dolphin? I'd like to see that in WOFF eventually, as well.

And to be really ambitious, if we are able to assemble relatively decent models of a handful of these aircraft we just might be able to convince OBD to include some, or all of these planes into WOFF as an unofficial add-on! A WWI enthusiast can dream can't he?

A number of those are Austrian-Hungarian, so wouldn't be seen much over the Western front at present. Maybe as a later add-on pack? This would cut down on the number of new FM's that would have to be put together.

Can remove some that WOFFUE doesn't cover....

No Eastern Front:
Hansa BrandenburgD.1
PhonixKDI
FokkerB.I
FokkerB.II

No Belgians:
HanriotHD.1
HanriotHD.1 Dual

The FokkerB.I can be used as the Fokker M 7, which had been operated by the Naval air service of the Kaiserliche Marine from 1915.

Eliminate those and the list gets a little easier. But again, these are not in the main data files , so they won't be active in campaigns without some renaming and file trickery for lack if better words. Sort of like how Pat Wilson created the Western Front Patch for those that remember... ugh...15 years ago...

Having contacted Pol on this mod, it's not totally out of the question for this to be released by OBD at some time in the future.
That said, the mod would need to be up to the standard we and OBD would wish. If some of these models are 15 years old, then their quality must be questionable. In the past modders have come and gone and even when aircraft have been submitted to OBD, the quality left a lot to be desired, in addition to the need of quality texture files, cockpits, LOD models, FM, XML files, historical data and the WOFF folder system, to name just a few of what is required.
As we all know, at the moment its full steam ahead with WOTR, so obviously this mod is not an OBD priority right now. However, user generated mods have made their way into WOFF, so never say never.
