If you have been on the fence but the price has made you hesitant, maybe this will tip you over the edge. https://www.oculus.com Also on Amazon. That's a significant saving. I have had my Rift for a year and it still blows me away every time I use it.

From what I've heard it will be this way for the next 6 weeks.

They have to do something to lessen the stock because this fall new units will arrive bettering the Vive by miles.

I just bought the Rift without touch from Oculus less then a month ago for $499.00. Gonna see what I can do about getting the discount.
EDIT: I opened a support ticket requesting a refund and touch controllers sent to me. I purchased the Rift from Oculus on 6/18/17 so I have a few days left to return it if necessary. Even if they hit me with a 15% restocking fee I'd still be ahead.
EDIT: 7/13/17 Heard back from Oculus. They offered me a $200.00 store credit (software and apps only) Which I accepted. I wasn't crazy about the touch controllers anyway, besides I can always get them at a later date if I want.

I'm guessing the earliest we will see a next gen Rift will be in time for Christmas next year (if we are lucky). From the very beginning they said the update cycle would fall somewhere between that of a Cell Phone and a gaming console.

Well I have a 980ti which I hope is adequate, but I have a disdain for facebook which is one of the reasons I've sort of been on the fence since I assumed I needed an account to use their hardware. This price cut makes it pretty darn appealing though. The minimum is a 970 I believe so the 980Ti will do. Although you dont need a Facebook page you will need to give them some details for the Oculus software. If thats a problem just get a gmail address to give them, you just wont be able to buy anything on the Oculus store. Thats not a big deal really as most stuffs available on Steam anyway.
