It's still about the flying.

Once again I'd like to point out that there are very few posters but still a lot of users. Just look at the stats about Mr. Jelly's downloads.

For the modders there's nothing as satisfying as watching the rest of the community enjoy our creations. We are passionate about our chosen hobby and passionately defend what we do against the misinformation and the smears about our integrity.

Of course, we don't like the conflicts here any more than the users do and we sure don't like it when we are inaccurately described as a bunch of close minded communists.

That type of inflammatory rhetoric does nothing to instill us with the spirit to continue our efforts.

An apology is in order but we know we won't get one so instead we'll shrug it off and continue on our way.

Yes having to download a "New" version daily to fly online got very old indeed.

Because of the level of passion we have for the game and the ideas we have for improving game play there were times that we probably over did the version upgrades. Hopefully the community will forgive us for our enthusiasm.

In fact, as of late the changes have lowed considerably and we won't see that kind of activity in the future.

When it got tiring spending half the night "updating" the new version for the day before we flew..real life and family prohibits that..

Just dropped by to amuse myself, and what do I find?

The same old, same old!

I seemed to have become the joint, most hated former member of this community, but seeing as the community is ruled by Rotten Jelly, it's two against two.

Seems a fair fight at last, but I'm past fighting for a lost cause.

Tony, keep plugging away, and kill EAW as quickly as possible. It's hard to see this place linger on in a state of near death.

Ray, Stop moving the odd element around to create something new, when it still looks the same. Try doing a totally new build. Oh I forgot, you'd rather do a quick bodge, rather than a proper model.

Still, I'm off now. biggrin

Supports EAW 1.29.exe, Drop in and Play Technology. wink

Right.

Thanks for confirming my point that it's always the same guys that do the attacking.

Unfortunately attacks need to be defended, so duck for cover smile

Col, check the events that have put you on the nose with me and others.
The first I mentioned earlier:

So what happens next is that he makes a public release of it at MediaFire, with a link to it in his signature. Should I sit back and do nothing? The least I can do is to ask him to remove it, and make people aware that they may be wasting their time downloading a very basic version, and nothing like the real 1.29 release. Because of its limitations that version may well give a user the impression that 1.29 is a heap of rubbish, which is certainly not the case when the full version is used.

wink

Anyone downloading that "modders only" version can only fly default EAW which does not use any of the features of 1.29, and may as well be another version of 1.2 as far as playing EAW is concerned. Anyone downloading the full version gets about 10 different theatres in addition to the default ETO.
Because of you an inferior installation of my work is out there for the public to download, without my approval.

The second is the cause of your dismissal from the Gen

The Gen is a private forum, and as a result things can be posted there that are not meant to be public.
In order to fire a shot at Ray in this public forum you copied a post that he made at the Gen, and published it here.
A red card was the only possible consequence.

The third is your opposition to anything after 1.29

I provide many different versions of the EAW installation, so that people can have a choice of what they install. Nobody is forcing them to use whatever may be the latest version. There are even some experimental versions for people with the screen corruption problems to try.

Everyone else who makes aircraft skins and models, and wants their work to be available for use in the "slot free" versions has made them in 1.29 format. Then they have either learned to use the conversion software, or got me to do it for them.
You did neither and because you cannot drop your 1.29 skins into the root folder of a 1.40, 1.50 or 1.60 installation for testing, you have consistently attacked posts it threads relating to these installations.
The solution to your problem was offered, but you never took it up and you have caused trouble ever since frown

Just adding another comment, not related to John's post, but about EAW in general.
The only people I know who are currently creating anything for EAW are:

Moggy (Dinkirk and Iraq)
Ray (Skin and FM updates)
Iron Mike (Skins for Moggy)
Von Beerhoven (FXExe and support material)
MarkEAW (EAW help files)
Modred (Occasional screens)
Laurent Vogel (WW1 aircraft)
Roy (EAW in Linux)

I cannot see the possibility of new theatres being produced other than the current works in progress, so I am not surprised by the fall off in useful posts in this forum.

Add to that may other players have had PC or RL problems, and as a result they are inactive as far a playing or modding EAW is concerned. Pobs, Roller and Knegel come to mind immediately.
What amazes me is that this sim is approaching 20 years of age, and we are still flying smile

LOL, Jelly continued to develop the MP code, theTMOD code, and unlock the plane slots, while also adding your precious trains and river barges, yet he is the one killing your precious toy.
