I was reading at the Bos forum and fond this interesting topic about simshaker. A device that could bring in a more immerse experience to WoFF or WoTR

Simshaker at Bosforum

https://www.gametrix.eu/collections/gaming-vibration-pads/products/gametrix-kw-908-jetseat-turbojet

https://andres.shop/

According to the seller/designer Andre, every game could be modify to run this device, only he needs to know a couple of output parameters.
I would like to know if ODB is open for the Simshaker implementation, so Andre can make this compatibility for the use in WoFF and WoTR?

Mm looks good. The first I heard is by reading this.. obviously depends on demand and exactly what's involved.

Hi Polovski,
I'm one of developers of SimShaker software and Gametrix JetSeat vibration pad reseller, and I look for some more simulation games to provide with event-driven immersing vibration additional effects.
As it was referenced above by Dutch I need some real time data from a game engine to produce effects:
* gun fire and pay-load release (left/right/middle side);
* engine(s) attributes MP, RPMs, MW, AB;
* landing gear state;
* landing gear shock absorbers contraction ;
* flaps and air brake position;
* damages;
* IAS ;
* altitude above the ground ;
* accelerations;
* roll;
* AoA;
* cockpit shake intensity, if possible.

Could you please tell me if that possible to obtain such a data from WoFF and WoTR?

Kind regards,
Andre

Hi Andre,

Is it not possible to use the force feedback output already there?

Cheers,

Mark

We do not use FFB in SimShaker, since it's implementation is pretty vary from one game to another and in general it requires the FFB device to be a controlling one, but many simulation games provide telemetry data available for 3rd parties.
Using full set of game telemetry data we can provide even more comprehensive set of effects.

I wonder if FFB implementation in WoFF and WoTR is similar to IL-2 Sturmovik by O.Maddox and MSFS X or rather similar to DCS World?

Kind regards,
Andre

No unfortunately, we are totally flat out making a sim at the moment. It's likely the number of people interested would be too low to justify adding anything specific at this point, but we can look at in the future perhaps.
BTW on Andre's question - I don't know if the FF is similar to other sims, but it should be similar to MSFS if any.

Mmmm, if I do well remember OBD did chance the FFB as an tool made for the changing the FFB in MS-FS http://www.fs-force.com/ does not work. So if this FFB should be simulair to MS-FS, the FS-force software should work and I can tell you it did not work in Woff3.
Also some CFS3 guru's at Simouthouse forum could not read out the FFB in Woff3, so this seems to be different from the CFS3 game.

Mmm I didn't say it was the same, I said similar, but still at the moment there's not a lot we can do about it we are knee elbow and many other parts deep.

Dutch

I use a MS Force Feedback stick and it worked fine in OFF3 and in WOFF UE.
I actually adjusted the FFB settings fields in some of the FM modules to suit my tastes.

I know what you adjust, but believe me, FFB is not only the rumble force that Woff now a days does generate. During the woff3 period I did play CFS3-MAW and while playing I did feel the FFB from the original CFS3 game engine, so I do know it is the Woff game engine.
On the other hand, OBD did finaly explain: no support for old hardware, so I went for an Thrustmaster, because the actual Woff FFB does feel unreal.

In WOFF3 and WOFF UE I not only get stick shaker when firing and landing, I also get increasing and decreasing pressure on the stick when experiencing g-forces in strong banking and turns. I also get feedback in approaching stalls.

I had the same in CFS3 BOB.

There support for FFB is already there. What do you feel is missing in it?

Robert, the devs did already explain NO SUPPORT ON OLD HARDWARE and believe me I know; after playing FFB games from 2000 on and did have 3 types of FFB sticks, [the Logitech Force and MS-FFB1 & 2], what I do feel in WoFF is just an vibration, a signal that makes the stick wobble.
For me it is; case closed and got an Non force feedback, so problem solved. no game is perfect and I can live with the explanation from OBD.

Maybe something is wrong with your stick because I actually get constant increasing pressure when I bank hard. You should get the same.

Lets hope OBD would included this Simshaker, if so, sure I will buy this hardware. Think it would not that labour intensive to bring in the needed parameters to Andre.

Well I don't know how much work if it has not been investigated. Often the simplest things take the most tim and we already have far too much to do andf no time. We need to do things that will give us enough return to keep doing this.
Ask some of the modders they have a deeper understanding of how much time this all takes to do even simple things sometimes days go by editing one file....

Hello

I am reviving this post.

Can we hope to have telemetry for simshaker available for WOFF BHAH2 ?

That would give a more immersive experience while flying

Regards

I do not think the OBD situation has changed since 2017.

They are still a very small team creating fantastic games and they are so small that they can only work on improving one game at a time.

Even that takes months and months when they are focused on just that one game.
