Been awfully busy in RL and not getting as much WOFF time as I would like (who does?) but still check in here regularly.

Was hoping to see some mention of new/additional UE content (as was mentioned a long time ago) but see nothing - not even a rumor.

Is OBD full speed ahead of WOTR?
Is the idea of new UE content dead?

I can't speak for the devs, so this is just my opinion, but I don't think UE content for the future is dead. They are working full steam on WOTR and when you realize how long it too them to build OFF, remember WWII is on a significantly larger and more complex scale...and they have a smaller team now than they did before. Its simply going to take a lot of time.

Also, MFair is funding them to produce WOTR so I imagine he will want that content to be their primary focus. Add ons or Expansions for UE may come, but my guess is that WOTR will get shipped first and UE content will likely be the passing over of improvements from what they learned doing WOTR. All pure speculation on my part, of course.

I think your analysis is quite correct Hellshade, I also think the devs are fully concentrating on the Wotr project.
Let us hope that WoffUe can benefit of the new developments within Wotr, and we can still see some expansions
for this excellent WW1 sim.

I keep my fingers crossed that the OBD-team can make their (and no doubt our) dreams come true!
Greetings Dieter

Hellshade, for the record, what "I" want has no bearing on what OBD is working on. I am just like every one else in that I cannot wait to see what OBD comes up with for WOTR and any future updates for WOFF. As we all know they have not let us down in the past. The future's so bright I gotta wear shades!

Duke, good to see you back Bud!

Thanks MFair!
It is certainly good to be "back" so to speak - been around just not chatty as I have not been getting near the WOFF time for the past couple of months. So I live vicariously thru others here. Thanks all for the stories, pics, and videos.
Still got that PayPal account though OBD...*hint, hint*

Very close to retirement (thank goodness) but instead of work and home life slowing down seems like I am busy as heck. How does that work? Don't get it. Think I need to break a leg or something.

Got to say I miss WOFF campaigning mightily. Couple hours a week just ain't cutting it!

We are flat out on WOTR at the moment, yes we hope to do more for WOFF at some point - and yes any new improvements in WOTR we can later add to WOFF where applicable/possible.

Nice! Thanks Pol.
Of course I'll buy WOTR when it's out - like WW2 also - but WW1 Western Front will always be my baby.

It would be rather foolish if not keeping also the attention on Woff, we all did see what happen to RoF.

MFair: I must say it's damned decent of you to be content to sit on the sidelines while OBD toils away. Under the general provisions of the Golden Rule (He who has the gold makes the rules) it is not completely unreasonable to want to 'peep over the shoulder' to watch progress, or, to want to be assured that one's money is being spent in the most judicious manner. I am confidant, as you seem to be, that simply leaving the Dev's to their own devices will ensure the best possible result. Good on y', mate.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Hauksbee,
Thank you for the kind words. I do get progress updates from OBD so trust me, they are hard at work on WOTR. twoweeks

Two weeks!
Awesome but I must be missing the pre-order link for it and the WOFF UE Super-Duper Expansion pack with every plane and Squadron for the Western Front from 1915-1918.

Duke, let's say you had every squadron and every plane, would you have time to play them or would it end up being more of the same? I'd much prefer a major game engine upgrade with seamless mod support to the current game. 'Shoot Ask for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.' — Norman Vincent Peale (modified).

Speaking for my own personal values, I would prefer any core SIM engine upgrades over additional planes...even as exciting as new planes most certainly are. My GUESS is that SIM engine upgrades are what we are most likely to see after WOTR since they will have already done the hard work of researching them. That said, what I would like to see happen and what will happen in life are often not the same with remarkable regularity. (See Lottery ticket). Fortunately, I would certainly be happy to see more planes too, so unless nothing happens, I will probably find reasons to rejoice.

Okay Mr. Dreamkiller.
Guess I didn't realize my list needed to be all inclusive. Should I bring up the new splash screen?
Geesh. smile
