Why is soooo dark?

Looking good. Its great to see the new terrains. I agree with Stratos though. This project has always looked too dark. I can't tell if its some kind of vignette or a much too harsh HDR-like effect. I like contrast and a dark upper atmosphere but even at lower altitude in direct sun with an external camera view of the aircraft everything just looks to dark and hard on the eyes. And simply increasing brightness through a slider doesn't seem like it would help. Something hard coded in the visuals.

Not the video per se bisher but look at the shadows, it seems this virtual World has run all out of ambient light.
Reminds me of some less well made arma mods (ohh wait, maybe that was mine).

But in the long run, looks are secondary to simulation and gameplay so I am still waiting for release day.

I'm not saying that this sim (CAP2) doesn't look dark sometimes (or many times).
But isn't this perception on some/many players here (and I only have that perception about CAP2 sometimes but not always or even often) due to "an excessive" experience with all the Russians sims that currently dominate the market (IL2 series, DCS, etc...) where the predominant color is a very light and almost "radioactive looking" green/green-ish?

What I mean with this is that IMO, we've been used to sims (again the Russian ones) which are way too bright and when we see something "darker" which again IMO is how most of the real world really looks (compared to the Russian sims) some of us fell strange about it?

I keep forgetting about this dim. Could be a worthy successor to Strike Fighters if it's open to modding at all.

Like modding as well but it wasn't ever mentioned. So.. didn't buy into it. But do think many will like it.

No, not yet but they said after the big (terrain related) patch, they are going to focus on campaign system.

Patiently waiting for Falklands terrain.

I guess that will have to be a mod though. Let's hope the devs allow modding.

A Malvinas map would be greeat, but hope to be able for the Argentinian side as well.

Less generic buildings - a scatter of sheep here and there and the odd dayglo jacketed photographer half way up a hill and the Mach loop would be nailed !

IIRC, one of the dev blogs mentioned that Modding is "on the road map", but toward the end. I suppose that's fair, as otherwise modders would be chasing their tails until the sims feature set get's more solidified
