So, the new BattleTech turnbased game is out in the beta test - with the single-player skirmish module released first.

here are some screenshots smile

[Linked Image]

Close quarter battle - my poor Panther faces down a Hunchback with my Centurion taking on the Kintaro.

My Panther tries to tackle the Hunchback.

[Linked Image]
Two more enemies on the sensors on the other side of the hill as I tackle the Hunchback.

[Linked Image]
The poor enemy Urbanmech (or Walking Trashcan as it's called in battletech circles) got knocked down (but will get up again...)

[Linked Image]
New map and skirmish - I brought a heavy lance. 2 Catapults and an Awesome (LL-version).

[Linked Image]
One of my Catapults jumping into position.

My poor Commando scout is down for the count frown

[Linked Image]
The enemy Onion (or Orion as it's really called) showing very little damage...

Game is fun sofar. The skrimish is somewhat limited but gives you a good feel for the mechanics of the game and maps. I'll be having a great fun with this in both single player, and multi-player.

but can you do physical attacks and the classic "death from above" move

Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

The only thing more accurate than incoming fire, is incoming friendly fire

Tracers work BOTH ways...

Yes. The "tackle" is a representation of a physical attack - I've also commited DFAs.

Both DFA and melee attacks. You can take damage from executing the DFA though.
