All the SJW nonsense is frankly people looking for a reason to be offended about stuff like a female protagonist, or black protagonist.

Some, some others don't like the similarity to the early movies storylines. What they don't seem to get is that's how SW goes. Basically the same thing for thousands of years. KOTORwas a game that would've made a great movie, but it still had the same types of characters, a MF type ship, etc.
IMO the two new movies are exceptional and I can't wait to see the next ones.

We don't "get" that it's the same thing for thousands of years? So, you're saying that over the thousands of years there's going to be planet killer built on a regular basis, an orphan with Force skills comes up on a regular basis, said orphan gets a mentor that is killed after a short time on a regular basis, fighters attack the planet killer exploiting a weak spot on a regular basis, a short, insightful alien shows up to guide the orphan, and is always small, etc.?

Sith lord threatens all, bring up a Jedi, add a rogue, a wookie perhaps, some droids, and a strong willed woman to be instrumental in righting the wrong.

Right, but the problem people had with TFA copying ANH wasn't what you said, it was what I said. It's one thing to repeat a general theme, it's another to just repackage the same story.

Probably true . . . But they could have released Phantom Menace under a new title with the Jar Jar scenes cut out, and probably earned about the same, such is the power of/hunger for the Star Wars brand.
