I remember back to my Red Baron 3d days and wanting to use Le Prieur rockets against those pesky Eindeckers...I do vividly remember it working on one occasion.
So, I got the idea that...hmm, would bombs work in the air against enemy aircraft in WOFF:UE?
The answer is: YES!!!
I am actually very happy to see this...some games artificially restrict what can be done. It is difficult to see, however it looks like I hit the tail surface of the Aviatik which then set off three bombs out of the four. Sadly, it looks like one bomb landed on the friendly side of the lines (ha ha, probably why this wasn't likely done in real life). You might think this is crazy, but probably not much less crazy than this guy: Alexander A. Kazakov ...or this guy: Piotr Nikolayevich Nesterov
From a gaming standpoint, it shows that the hard points on aircraft (if this is the correct term) are susceptible to explosions and contacts of many kinds. Good show!
Lastly, WOFF:UE devs, may we now please have grappling hooks put into the game
Regards,
Jeff
P.S. Now, those Deutsch fan boys and girls can start a career as early as possible with Aviatik BIs and BLOW BE2cs OUT OF THE SKY with their bombs as there is no need for rifles

Very unusual! I am also curious about the Lee Enfield Rifle your observer has. What mod is that part of and does he actually fire at opponents with any success?

@Robert_Wiggins...thanks! Used every trick I could think of to line it up
@Buff1...the rifle is not a mod. It is vanilla WOFF:UE and I believe it only comes with the early BE2c planes. Success is limited with rifle, but I have seen some hits occur.

...and, I have now delved into skinning using paint.net. I Have very intimate familiarity with Microsoft PhotoDraw 2.0, however, I learned about a decade ago that program does not save to layers, nor DDS format. I like the features in paint.net and have learned thanks to the WOFF skinning tutorial and some online vids aimed at paint.net users. I still have a long way to go, but not a bad start. Also check out what is perhaps the first chronological use of a special bomb insignia ( )
Did not (again) receive credit for bombing a plane to bits...as seen in the vid, EA crashed right near my aerodrome....this one might not be coded into the game (sniff, sniff)...oh well, still fun.
I will be starting a serious campaign very soon (tonight or tomorrow)....not sure if I should post in the DiD thread, but I think I will in the general thread and then let the moderators move it if appropriate.

Jeff
