Hello everyone...I'm getting the following when flying German MFJ I after October 1, 1916:

Mission Type Error - See Log for details

You will need to exit WOFF now and restart

Airfield defense (note: other mission types show up here on other instances)

WOFF database or critical file error - WOFF cannot proceed! (note: frown )


...this error also popped up for SK Saschenberg on January 31 1917 (I was testing to see if my career would end when SK Saschenberg ended after Jan 31 and was also interested to fly the E.III in January 1917),


Not a big deal for me as my main character is British, but since I noticed it I thought I would bring it up.

Did you see the log files (located in WOFF\Logs folder)? These files are intended for troubleshooting and diagnostics.

That seems to be a problem with your mission file, especially generated mission type.
Can you send me also your mission.log (located in Logs folder) and Off_Camp_Mission.xml file (located in ..\missions\historical folder) that caused error, pls?

Sure thing...what I did is cleaned all the files, ran a mission with a British pilot, and then tried again with a German pilot. I have each one under a spoiler:

Thx for posting all info. However, I miss the Mission.log file (you have uploaded the woff.log file instead). This file is very important to localize source of your error.
Have you tried to locate Off_Camp_Mission.xml file immediatelly after error message? If this file was not created, it seems theat WOFF was not able to create mission file, probably due to not availability of any escort mission ( MFJ I at October 1, 1916 is ordered for escort missions only).
Send me Mission.log file, pls.

However, I'm not certain my German test character is having any information sent to the mission.log. This info seems to be from the British test pilot before I tried the German one. I just now tried the German pilot again, with same error chain, but no info seemingly sent to mission.log. If it helps, I'm never allowed to go to the briefing. The errors happen during the loading screens, and then it kicks me back to the information room (or whatever it is called: the screen before the briefing room), and then the little "do not enter" logo comes up when I try to re-enter the briefing room.

Thank you, that is very important information - you are not even able to go to 3D - it seems that WOFF is not able to create the mission file and that is why you get this error when switching to cfs (3D environment).
Let me reproduce it, I think I have some idea...

Yep, my suspection has been confirmed - source of your problem (ours also) lays in squadron database files - MFJI.txt and SK Sachsenberg.txt. Both databases contains only Escort directives for given calendar dates 1 Oct 1916 and 31 Jan 1917 respectively. WOFF is not able to create campaign mission with Escort directive and ends with error. This error is easily reproduced and proven.
Unfortunatelly, you must ask OBD Software support for help - ask for correction of above mentioned squadron files, because they are encrypted.
Check your PM, please.
