I'm currently running WOFF 2.16 and passed on the expansion 3 at the time it was released. It's been a good period of time since I last checked the WOFF website and forum and it appears the option to buy expansion 3 has been removed and replaced with the "ultimate" all in one version that includes add-ons I'm not interested with.
So my question is am I stuck with having to buy the "ultimate" version to get the expansion 3 or is there a link I haven't been able to find where I can buy just expansion 3?

OBD has only sold one version of WOFF at a time, and the moment the next version of WOFF came out they ceased selling the older version.
As a result, as it stands now (unless OBD makes an exception), it's WOFF UE or nothing.

Perhaps my memory has failed me again ... but I swear it was possible to purchase more than one version/expansion previously. Apparently no longer the case .... bummer. As a casual single player - and as I mentioned - I really don't have an interest in the 3 add-ons included with the ultimate version. As such IMO the dev's have closed the door on additional revenue by not offering a choice to casual players like me ... and for the reason I stated.

Out of curiosity Over50, what is included in the ultimate edition that makes it so unappealing to you vs. the 3rd iteration of WOOF?
It's not an issue of "unappealing". As a casual single/solo player I don't have an interest in the following heretofore paid content: ADDON #1 - FOKKER SCOURGE ADDON #2 - BALANCE OF POWER ADDON #3 - MOTLEY CREW

You might be confusing versions with add-ons.
OBD has sold a version with various add-ons, but never more than one version at a time.
WOFF UE has all the various versions and add-ons all rolled up plus better AnKor DX9 Shaders to run the game even better than before with higher FPS.

IMO Over50 if V3 was available it might only have been a bit cheaper than purchasing WoffUE mate,i can understand your point though maybe there are other people that have V1+2 and just want V3 What i will say is this though..UE is worth every penny, its not just the shaders its also the extra craft, the winter trees, the airfield drums and lights lit up on very early dawn or late dusk\night patrols. Ankors Headshake mod,Triple J,s Mission editor,RW,s and Lous Airfields. 4Loms incredible new textures,OldHats missions. Buckeyes mods the list goes on and i believe the majority of these are only UE compatable, the mods take this sim to a new level. Also it has the added bonus of not needing CFS3 to be installed aswell pal

Hi Over50, Guess you will just have to wait for it to go on sale.... err wait... WOFF UE is discounted from its normal price of $64.99 down to $45.99.
Out of curiosity, if it was available, how much do you think WOFF 3 should cost?
I checked my records and when I purchased WOFF 3 it was for $39.99
Product name: WOFF EXPANSION 3 - Digital Download Only Product code: WOFF E 3.0 DIG Quantity: 1 Price/unit: 39.99 USD
WOFF UE is easily worth another $6.00 compared to the original cost of WOFF 3.

But AnKor's WOFF UE DX9 Shaders have improved far beyond his original WOFF v2 shaders in FPS as well as other neat things they do now too.

If expansion 3 was still available as a choice in addition to the UE I doubt it would be priced at the original $40 download cost.
I'm not and never was what I term a hard core online player and this dates back to my Aces Over The Pacific PC air combat days. So, it's stay with expansion 2 for my casual sessions or buy the current UE at $48 to $50 final cost to get the expansion three I want for the additional eye candy along with a 3rd of the content ( the 3 add-ons) I have no interest in.
Really wish the dev's would have retained the expansion options for potential buyers such as myself vs. the UE take it or leave it option.
EDIT: Just to add, I've been a player of this OFF series since 2010 and supported the development with my previous purchases so it isn't as if I just showed up on the forum to complain..........

Appreciated the link.... interesting read. Somewhat reaffirms my opinion that maintaining an upgrade path vs. an all or nothing option for existing WOFF supporters is akin to shooting yourself in the foot when the object of the dev's is to maximize profit potential from their efforts. Thanks to all for taking time to post !

If expansion 3 was still available as a choice in addition to the UE I doubt it would be priced at the original $40 download cost. ..... You are probably quite right. WOFF UE might still be at $65 and WOFF 3 could still be in the $40/$45 range so we are back at the starting point. The point is, is that WOFF UE is pretty much the same price you would have paid for WOFF 3 back when it was available. You are not only getting content you do not want and the enhancements (like the shaders), you are getting the dev's excellent continued support for bug fixes and future enhancements. EDIT: Just to add, I've been a player of this OFF series since 2010 and supported the development with my previous purchases so it isn't as if I just showed up on the forum to complain.......... I do not think any of us thought that, we are just trying to explain why we all think WOFF UE is an exceptional value.

Over50, If I could make one quick observation . . . I noticed in all your posts above you mentioned the following things: I'm not and never was what I term a hard core online player
As a casual single/solo player I don't have an interest in the following heretofore paid content:
As a casual single player - and as I mentioned - I really don't have an interest in the 3 add-ons included with the ultimate version. You do realize that WOFF UE has nothing at all to do with multiplayer, right? It's still the same single player experience it has always been. Perhaps you already know this, but I did want to make it clear, just in case. For my two cents, I'd like to say that it is really worth the $45 it is going for right now.

The point is, is that WOFF UE is pretty much the same price you would have paid for WOFF 3 back when it was available. Essentially, it's $5 more for a ton more content AND graphical and other updates than what was in just '3'. As for WOFF 3 being discontinued, as soon as WOFF 1 was launched, the old OFF:BH&H was also no longer available for sale either. That's been the standard for as long as OBD has been selling the sim to the best of my knowledge. I hope you will take the UE plunge. It's a hell of a sim and features a great many upgrades beyond what '3' had.

Hi over50, Everything else aside, I promise you that you will totally love the experience of WOFF UE as compared to what you are currently experiencing. It is dramatically better performance-wise. You will be able to raise your LOD to enjoy better quality graphics AND have better frame rates. Plus you will have the added immersion of battling (or piloting) the two additional French 2-seaters, plus numerous other enhancements. For me, moving to UE was very special. Because of the performance increase I really felt in control of my plane, for the first time ever, such was the change in fluidity of the gameplay. I'm confident that you would sink many happy hours into this new version, easily justifying the cost. You're definitely missing out if you don't upgrade.... that's genuine advice from one over 50 to another H

The only version available is WOFF UE. It's far better than any previous iteration. The whole point of this is to consolidate 6 different products/expansions/addons which is incredibly difficult to update separately, and difficult to maintain and support - and is complex for the new user to understand. WOFF UE has many worthy new features, aircraft, and more, is easier to install in addition to including the WOFF3 you want, so very worth it.
It is what it is.
Ok. One question - With the understanding the UE is a stand alone complete/all inclusive WOFF content to date, will the digital OR the DVD version UE install over expansion 2 that I'm running as an upgrade - OR - do I have to remove WOFF ver.2 with all of my control configurations and start from scratch again (control setups) once UE is installed?

I do know I installed WOFF UE straight over WOFF 3 with zero problems, so I "think" it would be the same for WOFF 2.
The downside of this is it does increase the possibilities of error, versus a clean WOFF UE install, but then as the old saying goes: "you pays your money and take your chances".

Over50 use Robert's excellent back-up utility. It not only backs up the progress of your pilots, but the key bindings as well. Settings in workshop will be different and probably better to set them again. If not, just take the screen shot of what you had and set them again by looking at the screenshots and comparing. I also recommend to uninstall old version and start with clean slate, but it should be possible to install over v2 as well. HTH.

Not concerned with saving pilot progress ... as I said I'm a casual player meaning I fly when the mood strikes be it a quick mission or just sight seeing with my Track IR 5 in various different aircraft. I've started a campaign but never stayed with it long enough to complete it. Same with OFF up through the Hat in the Ring expansion. Ditto with IL2 BOS ... I have a CH Products USB combat stick plus the rudder pedals and used the CH control manager to save my WOFF joystick buttons and rudder setup as a file that I can "download" to the game each time I play. Was concerned whether the file would be recognized with a fresh UE installation vs. installing UE over my expansion 2.16 version that does recognize the saved file.

Update: I bit the bullet and bought the UE and have it installed plus the latest patch. As a FYI, my CH control manager combat stick and rudder pedals configuration map file I created for expansion 2 [DID] reload OK with UE. *** The only thing that didn't carry over from version 2 is the smaller size and location of the TAC display I had set up.... and I can't find the note I had for which file to modify - and how - and where it's located. Not a big deal but it would be nice to be able to do this in the workshop. Hopefully in another patch IF there are any more from this point on.... ??? UPDATE: Found my notes on how to modify the TAC display size AND figured out you can just drag the TAC display with the mouse to where you want it. All good now. FWIW ... I'm getting 60 FPS vsync'd with max visual options at 1920x1200 with a 7 year old x58 mobo, i7-930 oc'd to 3.8 GHz and a Evga GTX 980 SC GPU running W10. Also have a Samsung 512 GB SSD that's probably helping ...
