I wonder how different this will be from the 2007 film?

I just started it, been putting it off for years, but I want to finish at least the first book before seeing the movie. Still very early on in it, but I hope the movie isn't too different. Kind of seems like it from the trailer, but I don't know where the book or movie goes at this point.
It looks to be reasonably good from what I can tell (The Mist), I just hope it doesn't go the way of The Dome, which descended into a neverending LOST-style nonsense. My hope is that it will be a discrete, complete story with no reason to extend it needlessly.

My top 3 Stephen King adaptations of all time:
The Shawshank Redemption The Shining (the Kubrick film) Misery

I have to say that the trailers and segments for the new IT film are looking pretty good. IMDB has a new segment now. The kids seem to be much more as I imagined them.
