Made a video showing the start of the campaign. I didn't bother capturing the training prologue part. Less gameplay, more looking around at the basics: the man cave, weapon lists etc. for those curious about menus and the like. I'll have some gameplay up before too long, but will get some things to a more interesting point first. Can't use Shadowplay with it yet...maybe as desktop capture? I'll try that. Fraps makes it run like crap.
The reviews paint a nasty picture. A technological mess, long loading times, very weak plot. Stocks went down almost 30% today... That's a really bad launch day.
A shame since after awful Wildlands i was hoping this one will be at least good.
It's good i stopped preordering games many years ago.

I haven't used fraps in forever, but I was surprised what a hit my fps took. I switched to desktop capture on Shadowplay and that works for unsupported games. I have Dxtory too, but haven't found a reason not to use Shadowplay, which is so easy.

Copying my thoughts from the tactical forum:
I'm still barely into the game, so too early to really call it, but so far I would agree about holding off. I don't pay much attention to reviews, especially when I own the game myself. Not because of nit picky crap about forced bugs, performance issues, but the cardinal sin for games: it's dull. It's early, but I'm bored already and thinking about other games instead of my nice new one. It may improve, but IMO it's the responsibility of the developer to make the game engaging from the start. Wildlands had me hooked right off the bat. If anything this game benefitted from that since I was excited about another shooter that appealed to me and seemingly added some elements I'd like in Wildlands. If my opinion changes, I'll share what improves about it.

I played a couple of missions that weren't bad, but yeah, still dull. I played some Wildlands last night too. LOL Wildlands created a somewhat believable living environment. As odd as it is for people to be going about daily tasks with BODIES hanging up all over the place, they made it feel like a country. Traffic, pedestrians, civilians you don't want to hit etc. Also you have reason to be stealthy due to the calling in of reinforcements and eventually the Unidad getting involved. In this game, if they get alerted to you (so far at least), they will sometimes look for you, or more likely they'll just hunker down for a while and then go back to normal. No real consequences. Also, due to the workbench and needing to come up with supplies to create or buy your ammo etc, it becomes a looting game where you don't want to leave any body unsearched. I like the idea of having your safehouse to do things in, I like the chance to chill a bit while playing the game, but I'd rather be calling in for supply drops and bringing them back here than having to build everything from scraps.
It really does sound like then that Sniper Ghost Warrier 3 is still a budget title at its core with just a modernized game engine and maybe a few oddball modern fps conventions within gameplay. It still sounds like a twenty dollar game.

Unlocked the 2nd zone. It was another THREE minute load, even after the update today. The missions are dull since there are no consequences to an alarm going off. Just keep plugging away. Still putting time into it, looking for a light at the end of the tunnel. It's no Wildlands though, that's clear.
