They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Salute rendered

My deepest respects.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I've seen "Gallipoli" and "The Light Horsemen". What are some other ANZAC films I should check out?

Hurray for the ANZAC!

The only units American soldiers ever willingly served in under foreign officers - and asked to remain when given a chance to return to the US Army.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.

The "ANZACS" telemovie made back in the eighties starring Paul Hogan and available as a DVD set. Very, very good. Covers a lot of the war in France as well as the Middle East.

Have "had a few" with a bunch of guys from Australia and New Zealand at a surfing "event" in the early 80's, over a three day period. Great bunch of blokes, we all got seriously trashed and NEVER a cross word happened.

........

They told me at breakfast that they tolerated me because it was MY HOME. biggrin

Grrrreat people, and without a doubt I would have been happy to fight beside them. Can't imagine a better compliment than that.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet.
I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

ANZACS, us Brits would of been well-stuffed without them in both World Wars. Same goes for all the other colonial troops.
