Amazon is closing them down one by one:

Casualties are mounting:

Bebe, Staples, JC Penny, Sears, Payless ShoeSource, Macy's, J. Crew, Guess, Gymboree, Claire's, BCBG Maz Azaria, American Eagle, Aéropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, Wet Seal, Neiman Marcus, Chico's, The Limited, Bob's Stores/Eastern Mountain Sports, Gander Mountain..... and many more already gone

Intel suggests that as many as 8,600 competitors could be blasted in 2017

American Eagle. Oh no ! Now where will I get my over priced undersized t-shirts that were made out of Kleenax ? biggrin

I see the brick and mortar stores making a small come back one day. I have noticed lately that when it comes to clothes, things bought off of Amazon need to be returned more frequently. You end up not getting what the picture said it was. You order 3 large t-shirts of he same brand, and each one is a different size. Among other issues.

No issues with buying my clothes online, been doing it for years. Shoes, shirts, pants, shorts and all the rest. I love it. You know it's new and no fungus farm tried it on before you. Great for a germ freak like me. LOL
Amazon, Duluth, Bass Pro, Jockey...pretty much covers me. I know my sizes and stick to what I like. Amazon is VERY easy to work with on refunds though. If something is wrong, I print out the return slip and drop it off at UPS. Refund is either processed by that evening or sometimes before I even get back home.

the only one out of that batch I ever went to was Sears but they were already their own worst enemy long before Amazon came along.

Walmart is now Amazons biggest competitor. Looks like we are heading for the world of Wally.

The retail sector was oversaturated even before the advent of e-commerce. Some retailers like Sears, Kmart and Radio Shack were already struggling for several years before Amazon and other e-retailers became big.

Having said that, the brick & mortar retail sector WILL continue to shrink over the next several years. It's an inevitable and unchangeable trend.
