Looking for some info on the upgrade path as I detailed in the title. Have been getting back into tanks recently and have also had a lot more free time open up, so would finally like to get into things now.

It should be done with buying the 4.010 licence and then installing the Update to 4.019.

I only do not know if the 2.6 licence is upgradeable. Ssnake would be the man to give info on that.

Upgrading licence 2.5 or higher, $40. Quite straightforward, with the licence distributed by email and added to the CM stick by the user.

Note that the firmware and drivers for the CM stick probably require an update before attempting to add the new licence and run the software as 2.5 is rather old and the new SB versions don't work with the old firmware and software components.

Yes. The simple upgrade ($40.-) will do the trick.
Note that the software will actually tell you if a firmware upgrade is necessary (few people bother to read, let alone understand the error message text however). If that happens to you:
  • Start the CodeMeter Control Center
  • Select your CM stick on the left side of the window; physical CM stick serial codes tart with 1-, 2-, or 3-xxx
Virtual Cm-Containers for the time based licenses can be recognized by their serial code numbers 128- or 32767-xxx - don't bother with them
  • After selecting the physical CM stick, locate the button with the circular arrow on the right side of the window
  • Click it
  • Follow the on-screen instructions (in other words, lean back until the program did its thing, this will only take a minute or so)

You're done!
Have fun!

Thanks, I will finally be getting high speed internet hooked up to my new location in the middle of the mountain wilderness (Yes seriously) so I'll try to put an order through sometime this week and download all the necessary files.
