Ok, here is what not to do.
If you shoot the convoy (specifically the Target Truck) with the HTI Unsuppressed, you are going to a) stop it b) set it on fire c) lose the points if you are not close and the support vehicles are not dead.
So, IMO, using the HTI to stop the Target Truck is a No Go. Now using the HTI on the Support vehicles is a Win! Also on the support gunship if it has one.
So if it is a High Value convoy, it will have a Gunship attached. This is Target 1 for sure.

I have had better success with clogging the road with Civvie cars/trucks and bottlenecking the Convoy. That is really good.

Last night by chance I had taken an Unidad APC, and as I rolled out of the base, a convoy was approaching.
Feeling lucky I pulled the APC in front of the Target Truck as the lead Support vehicle passed.
The reaction was surprising. Everyone stopped, no shooting. Until I stepped out of the Drivers Position from the APC. Then it went pear shaped in a hurry! The Chase Vehicle crashed into me, trying to squish me against the APC.
Thankfully, my NPC teammate was still mounted in the gun turret, and made chorizo out of the cholo that was driving the hummer. And he took it to the Target Truck and Lead Support vehicle.
All I had to do was run around and put out the fire on my uniform.

What we learned from this.
A) a Unidad APC will quietly stop the convoy.
B) Don't get out of the APC until Jughead has shot the snot out of them with the Gun.


We also know that Mines are a greater threat to the Bolivian Civilian drivers. HAHA. So I don't use mines...
What about C4 to stop the convoys?
Do you try helicopter assaults? I know in Single Player Mode, Archie, Jughead and Veronica will shoot out their entire month's allotment of ammunition and not stop those trucks....

What have y'all tried? What worked?

I get ahead and throw out 3-4 C4, spaced out. Take them all out in one go.
If there's a chopper, take it out with the drone first. Gone before anyone shows up.
You can still tag the truck.

I just EMP the truck, shoot the lead vehicle a few times until it explodes and then clean up as the guys from the tailing vehicle get out. If you've got a maxed out EMP drone, it'll even make the accompanying helicopter fall out of the sky.

Can also just use a lower damage sniper to shoot the truck until it stops at a distance, then clean up from range.

Yeah, there seems to be a bug where you can significantly damage the truck and still tag the supplies... (even gas!)

You can damage the truck and make it stop. However, if you destroy it, you can still tag it but you'll get half the supplies.

I'm enjoying the EMP idea. Stops the convoy and they stop, off guard, ready to be taken out. Just plug the drivers of the truck before it recovers.

EMP works the best. Then put a grenade or two into the lead vehicle to destroy it and mop up everyone else.

The second option is two C4 charges spaced far apart, they'll take out the lead and chase vehicles. If it's too close you'll destroy the target and only get a fraction of the supplies. It usually won't stop the truck though, so you'll have to be fast in hitting the driver, damaging it just enough to stop it, or get into a high speed chase.

The choppers can be a hassle, but are sometimes taken out by the same EMP, if not, they always need several seconds to spot you and then get set up to shoot you. In that time you should be able to take it out with a rifle grenade or long MG burst.

In a perfect world you'll have a full squad and everyone just takes out their target at the same time.

I'm glad this topic came up because I am having a bit of a problem with these "stop the convoy" missions. Once you select the mission in the tacmap, you are directed to go to a particular point on the map but then what? Either the convoy is on top of you and it's too late to do anything, or it never seems to arrive at all. I know I am missing something very obvious here but if anyone can advise, I would much appreciate it!

Best to hop in a chopper and observe. When they get on a long road with no turn off's, fly up ahead and set up. You can drive, but may get shot at in the process. You can set up road blocks with your vehicle, but you need a mine to take out the lead vehicle to help block the road.
I discovered the other night in co-op that you can launch your drone when on the outside passenger seat of the chopper. You can take out the chopper escort early on and not have to stop flying.

We often at least start in a chopper. I find it works better with two in Coop as opposed to three or more as the more players you have, the more guns on target and the greater likelihood the target vehicle goes up! In the first 3 minutes of this vid is an (unusually) successful chopper takedown:

As you can see, success varies and we often end up switching to a land vehicle after the escorts are out...

Make sure the chopper is moving. If it's just hovering the drone will pop up from the character and chew up the blades.
