Guys:
Re-Reading Norbert Hanning's war memoirs & one mission always fascinated me-an early mission where he was a wingman in a 'Rotte' FW 190A4s escorting a Me110 spotting for an artillery battery. They were engaged by around 8-12 LaGG-3's. Anyway, long story short, I occasionally try to 'recreate' the odds by flying with a pair against more numberous 'bot' opponents. I've tried it several ways-lightly armed but manuverable fighters like the 109F4, the Mc202 or the Ki43; light & manuverable but better armed aircraft like a Zero, Ki61, Mc205 or a Ki84; invariably I either end up ventilated and my wingie & all all bite the dust....however the best results invariably come when I fly an FW190 like an A5 or A6, against more numerous but inferior opponents (yeah it's cheating but I need all the help I can get)--
To me, It seems firepower & ruggedness can help you outlast more numerous but less heavily armed opponents; What are your suggestions to suggest against more numerous enemies?

If your making your own missions, set the AI to average or rookie for flight leaders, and their wingmen to vet and ace. They'll behave much more human like, give a great aggressive fight without the suicidal high G face shots, you can get some really good results by tinkering with AI. They'll fight but won't all lock onto you like a magnet, and if you threaten one, his wing man will engage.
Flights of four, set from the lowest to highest AI, lead to last wing man, sound backwards, but try it. I've had people flying with, against AI set that way who swore they were flying humans.
