So I've just finished The Last Punisher, book about ST3 told by Kevin Lacz, he was team up with Chris Kyle and was in American Sniper as himself. This was an excellent book, really kept me pulled in. One of the "Amazon recommendations" was Level Zero Hero's but I don't think this is all that great, I see they also wrote Dagger 22.

I've already read American Sniper, The Reaper (didn't care for), Modern American Snipers which I stopped reading because I was hoping it was more about their battles and not what it takes.

Here are a few from my collection that I would recommend.

Sniper One by Dan Mills British, 2004 Iraq
Marine Sniper by Dan Henderson Carlos Hathcock, Vietnam
One Shot One Kill by Sasser and Roberts Collection WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Beirut
Hogs in the Shadows by Milo Afong US Marines, Iraq
Shooter by Jack Coughlin US Marines, OIF
A Sniper in the Arizona by John Culbertson US Marines, Vietnam
Dead Center by Ed Kugler US Marines, Vietnam

I have plenty more but I'm at work and those are the ones that came to mind.

Edit: Came home and added a few more. What sort of spec ops are you interested in TG? One that has always fascinated me are the LRRPs from Vietnam. There are a few good books I could name if interested in that sort of stuff. Balls of steel.

My pleasure TG. Sorry to say that Iraq and Afghanistan SEAL operations is not a strength in my collection. Partly perhaps it's because those guys don't talk much, However I do have a couple and can recommend

Service: A Navy SEAL at War by Marcus Luttrell Afghanistan
The Last Punisher by Kevin Lacz 2006 Iraq/Ramadi

Ooops, I see the last one is what you started the thread about.

One I have is Sniping in France by Major H. Hesketh-Prichard, D.S.O., M.C.
It is available on Google books and is where I found it,

The foreword on the book is by General Lord Horne of Stirkoke G.C.B. who had the neighbouring property to my farm of Old Stirkoke near Wick in the Far North of Scotland.

The book is more of a history and treatise on how the British Army developed snipers for WW1

I have it on .PDF if you are interested and can't find it.

Edit: full title is Sniping in France: Winning the Sniping War in the Trenches

Available on kindle too:

For me this is the gold standard of sniper related books.

I'll have to check out the one above, trying to stay more current just because that's what I'm more into.

Finished Among Heroes by Brandon Webb, former SEAL. Wasn't a bad book, I guess I didn't read the reviews about it because it more goes into the background of some of the SEALs he was serving with and not really missions that I was hoping for.

Among Heroes by Brandon Webb

Went back to my 3 authors Clancy, Dale Brown and Stephen Coonts who all recently released new books.

Can't go wrong by going to the source material.

Look at the bottom for the accompanying TC's.

Ultimate Sniper by John Plaster

Quite a good book, lots of useful information, tips and tricks regarding movement in areas of minimal cover or concealment (Move a sniper team through a wide open grass field in plain view of observers? He explains it in this book)

Lots of good techniques for shooting at most normal ranges (Under 1000 yards). He doesn't go into a lot of detail for extremely long range shooting though.

I know it's Vietnam and not Iraq/Afghanistan, but SOG by John Plaster is a must-read:

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
