The commanders update is now out biggrin

Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

The only thing more accurate than incoming fire, is incoming friendly fire

Tracers work BOTH ways...

I'll celebrate when the 4 1/2 hour download finishes smile

Edit: Not much in this for me. I don't do multicrew, there's not really much new content to interact with (The asteroid stations are cool but just eye candy...)

The new external camera is nice though.

I play Solo most of the time, but I'm considering fitting out a Type-9 for mining with possible multicrew play.

Most interesting to me is the new chained missions, and now apparently both passenger and missions screens each get an equal allotment of missions (rather than being shared, as before).

Building my avatar was decently quick, and it also appears in the Station Services menu. The hardest part was setting up the controls for the free camera, but I think I've go something workable figured out, at least for a start.

Not done much actual play though, so can't comment there.

EDIT: BTW, if anybody is having that erratic mouse problem, just go into the Video options and chance the mouse type. I think I changed it to "Render system cursor" or something. That fixed the bug for me.

I haven't had any mouse problems but looking at the main star in a system tanks my fps. Other than that though there are performance improvements. Hyperspace is much shorter and it only takes a second or less to drop out in front of station.

Frontier have done a much better job with their other game Planet Coaster, really coming along nicely.

More thoughts after flying around a bit.

Hyperspace looks worse but has for a while, it used to be long enough that I could alt-tab out every jump so I didn't really notice. All instance loads have been improved, dropping out to a station is almost instant, very nice.
The Dolphin is a fun ship and can make a good bit of money. Shields and jump range are 'ok' weapons suck (2x small). I'm finding plenty of good transport missions and they all pay well ($200-800,000)
There appears to be a shadow bug of sorts, where every face gets that blocky textured look like a late 1990s 3D game. Commander looks fine though.

I have not seen any blocky faces, here. But I am seeing the faster drops from hyperspace.

The Dolphin is nice, really a fun ship and I look forward to it taking some passengers to places the large ships can't visit. The reworked weights on the Orca and Beluga are excellent, letting both have a better jump range (my Orca is doing about 36LY now).

I've snapped a few screenshots with the new camera, too. Took a while to get some keybinds setup, but not too hard. I enjoy that it lets me break free of the ship and examine the surroundings a bit more closely.

If anyone's interested a hotfix has been released, fixed the blocky faces and ugly star textures for me.
