So watched the China GP, well some of it as fell asleep, it was so boring and people complain about NASCAR being boring.
Why do people get so excited about F1?
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Long Beach Grand Prix today (4/9/17) Much more interesting, be sure. Kanuck won.

I don't see Mercedes dominating that much any more this season. Ferrari - well, at least Vettel - closed the gap quite some, and, IMO, without that premature pit stop during the virtual safety car, Vettel had a good chance to win the China GP as well. Unlike in Melbourne, Mercedes was smarter this time, because they figured that with track conditions still being wet in some places, some of the less experienced drivers may crash their cars on slicks. Which promptly happened, and the real safety car had to come out. Which unnecessarily pushed Vettel back from 2nd place to, what, 6th? He still overtook three cars on the track (Kimi, because Ferrari did not issue a team order, Ricciardo and Verstappen) and came in second behind Hamilton who had an eight second lead. Verstappen started the race from postition 19 (from 20), and finished 3rd (both safety car phases helped, but he still had to overtake a lot of cars on the track).
Also, in cold, damp weather, both Red Bulls are more than able to keep up with Mercedes and Ferraris (especially Verstappen who just knows how to overtake in the wet). The Renault engine will get another upgrade in a couple of weeks, we'll see how that mixes things up.
The 2017 season looks like to be a lot closer at the top than in the past couple of years.
TL;DR: F1 is a lot less boring so far this season than it was the past years.
Those who find the whole event boring will not be swayed, but those theoretically interested may enjoy it more this year. The rule changes so far seem to work.
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

I was going to say no one ever raced a lawnmower. You can guess how my Google search turned out.
Right up there with Bar Stool racing and Toilet Racing. The sport of kings.
