Hi,

I am new to WOFF and noticed that it often takes quite a while until you get into action.

Therefore, my question: Is there a possible to play campaigns with instant action? For example if you set time compression to maximum, turn on auto-pilot - that time compression and auto-pilot get turned off automatically as soon as the auto-pilot is doing something different than flying to the next waypoint?

Best regards,
Lemml

Not at the moment.

You can fly Auto-pilot with Time Compression (TC) and then drop it out of Time Compression as soon as you see something happening, but that is a Manual decision when you are in TC or not.

Lemmi.....welcome! There is no setting to make the auto pilot turn off automatically like the old warp function in CFS3. You have to mind it yourself . If you want instant action you can play or design as many situations as you like in Quick Combat or Scenarios. Have fun

Lemmil

First let me welcome you to the WOFF world and the best forum members I have ever encountered.
The best way to get instant action is the "Quick Combat" feature. The "Campaign" mode is for experiencing realistic missions with unpredictable encounters. Compression and auto pilot can speed things up but you have to take control when enemy craft get near. There is no automatic way to turn off compression and autopilot when encounters occur.
If you are not hooked on realism you can turn on the "TAC" and "labels" to watch enemies approach. When you see them on the TAC, just hit the pause button, turn off auto pilot and compression and you will be back in control. Then hit pause again to reactivate the action.

Cheers mate!

You can also select "air start" in the briefing room (and this is available for campaign missions). This will skip the takeoff and the first waypoint so you'll begin your mission at altitude and much closer to the (potential) action.

And in the Workshop settings, you can also select "Closest Target" as opposed to Historical Targets. The missions will then always be to the closest target the campaign management system can locate, further reducing your "hang time" of just flying to and from the target. Of course, since there's a whole dynamic world happening out there, sometimes the most interest encounters occur while traveling to or from the target destination, when you run afoul of some enemy flight on their own mission.

At any rate, WOFF UE has a tremendous amount of options to customize your campaign experience and as has been noted earlier, you can also use JJJs Mission Editor to create your own mission. Support for that mod is built into WOFF UE.

The welcome in the forums is "warm." In the skies of WOFF UE, not so much. wink Be sure to check your six often.

Welcome! As carrick58 stated above you will be hearing Taps soon so why not just start a campaign 'normally'? You will last longer!
