So, I fire up Elite after some time off and all my axes and keybindings have been reset.

Has anyone ever had this happen? About the last thing I want now is to rebind all the controls.

Thanks for any help!

Deacon

Sounds like an update wiped your settings. In future you can backup the key bindings folder which is in C:\Users\Your PC name\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options

I just copy out the 'Bindings' folder, keep it safe and then paste it back in if I lose the key settings.

*You'll need to show hidden files to see AppData and beyond*

Thanks. I should have done that before but I don't generally have this problem. The main assignments I've memorized by now but I always have problems remapping the throttle and some of those buggy assignments.

My CH throttle seems to refuse to accept full travel in the options menu. I fixed it before but can't remember how now.

Well, chalk this one up in the "If it's stupid, but it works..." category.

After much fighting and frustration, I discovered that my CH setup works perfectly within ED as long as you don't try to program it in CH Manager.

That wasn't the case on my old computer, but that's the way it is now for some bizarre reason.

Just posting here for future Googlers.

I've had some bindings simply disappear after several hours of gameplay, but an exit to desktop and a restart of the game client restored them.

I use a CH profile that I programmed from within the CH software, it works fine.

Yeah, I've had that happen. Actually kept me from playing the game for a long while because I didn't want to go through the hassle of remapping everything.
Now I've done the backup plan.

Also, one weird thing that occasionally happens is when I fire up the game, my X52 axis' revert to a sort of binary state where you have to move the stick about half way to the stops before it kicks in the movement.
So I have to go back into control settings and re-do the yaw/pitch/roll controls and then it's good to go again. Strange behavior.
