playing the official sturmovik campaign - smolensk and enjoying it. have my conf set campaign length to very long. Its pretty nice to see the Il-2 come to life as an OK fighter aircraft on 1/4 tank of fuel and just guns. Does anyone use air to air rockets with fuse set, when going against fighters?

Lol, I use rockets all the time. It's mighty satisfying when you actually connect.

for the first time I saw a veteran ai sturmovik use rockets in an air to air battle against an HE-111 in the campaign

I have 4.13.3m for il-2 1946. Not sure which version ai uses rockets in air to air. Not a bad idea taking down a bomber quick with rockets, instead of taking hits from the rear gunners trying to take out engines.

The Soviets first use of RS rockets in fighter v fighter combat, was against the japanese in the late 1930's.

Saw this happen again in my campaign today, Now I can confirm ai sturmoviks are using rockets against other enemy aircraft in midair... Not sure if they are using it as airburst or directly trying to hit enemy aircraft with them, 4.13.3m for il-2 1946
