This is a question about super-sampling. I currently use a pixel density of 1.5 in the VR options of DCS. I just looked at my steamvr.vrsettings file in the steamvr config directory and (leaving out the brackets) all it says is:
I believe this is saying my default super-sampling is set to 2. Is that not strange, I thought it was supposed to default to 1.0? I have never manually edited this file.
If I have the pixel density set to 1.5 inside DCS is it using that value or would it be using the 2 value in the steamvr settings for super-sampling ... or would it be trying to combine both? I use the non-beta version of steamVR.
I will just answer this in case someone else has the same problem in the future. 1) It seems that another game that allowed me to set SS wrote directly to the steamvr.settings file when it was changed (that is how the file changed without me editing it) 2) It seems to be using just the 1.5 setting (pixel density) in the game (it is not cumulative with the vrsettings value).
I am using the Vive for some weeks now and I find it 'mind blowing' The pixel density setting in DCS only works for the Rift. For the Vive you have to set it manually in the settings file.
