On an unrelated note, is it possible to get light rain as a transition before normal rain starts to fall? I'm talking about the rain animation - not the horizon fog. Typically WOFF transitions from clear sunny skies to cats and dogs weather within 1 second. It would be nice to have sunny - light rain - heavy rain transition. Is such a thing possible?

👍...would be perfect...

Here is a rainy day with precipType="HeavyRain" (WOFF default)

Here is a rainy day with precipType="NoRain"

The difference betweeun HeavyRain and LightRain are fairly subtle, I think. Personally, I still prefer to use HeavyRain on WeatherType "Heavy" and WeatherType "Rain", but I guess it comes down to personal preference.

To JJJ, my personal recommendation would be:

For "Good - Some Clouds" and "Light Clouds": precipType="NoRain"
For "Scattered" and "Changeable Skies": precipType="LightRain"
For "Heavy" and "Rain": precipType="HeavyRain"

HELP: Why won't my pics show up! I clicked on the insert image llink and followed the instructions, so how do I get the pictures to show up! Argghhh!

I would only use the NoRain on absolutely clear days. But I could see having the option of using all three settings very fun.

I know I've read that some pilots flying in Northern Flanders could see the English coast at high altitude so recreating that (if possible) would be an immersive win for me!

Thanks for the comparison photos, Buckeye. Clicking the links was no hassle.

The demarcation in the appearance of the ground coloring is interesting.

I agree to the use of NoRain on absolutely clear days.

And my thanks to for the comparison photos, Buckeye.

Nice, I will implement this rule in the Mission Editor Weather mod and release it for testing. Then we will see. Thx for interesting enhancement.

Well, I'm glad that you can see them, cause I can't! I'm using dropbox for my pics; do I have to use Photobucket or some other picture sharing service to get my pics to show up?

I agree that changing the precipType should only be an option for the player, since whether someone likes HeavyRain, LightRain, or NoRain is mostly a matter of personal preference.

Implemented in the latest release of ME v1.1.6 that is available for download in ME thread, first post.

Thanks, JJJ. As we say here in the USA, "You da man!"

After installing your update, I'll return later to make comments about how the different Rain settings look in different conditions and make further recommendations.

Anyone else using the mod is welcome to comment about the removal of the horizon fog, as well.
