Thank you for your time and effort Harry. It was fun even though I could not finish. Looking forward to the next one when you are ready.

Yeah, thanks from me, too :-)
Sadly, I haven't had that much time to fly in the last Months, but that'll improve I'm sure...

to be honest, I only fly the DID and your RL, no other campaigns.
Why.... because the campaigns add meaning to my flying time.

danke Harry

Well thank you everyone. It was a pleasure to put this together and participate in it with you all!

What did we learn? Well it's pretty clear that the early threat of the Eindeckers didn't last very long before the Entente overwhelmed them, and that was reflected in this campaign challenge. It makes me realize how skilled Boelke and Immelmann must have been (along with a lesser known master of the Eindecker, a certain Hermann Der German). I think the term "Fokker Scourge" mostly came about from the trouble they caused to British 2-seaters. However, in WOFF, it seems that the early French scouts were a match for them even quite early on. I wonder if this was actually true in real life. Anyhow, in our two challenges, the Fokkers were hard to fly and hard to survive in.

Personally I got to really enjoy flying the Bristol Scout! My general flying, observation and navigation skills improved steadily throughout the challenge, and only a bout of brief madness did for my pilot. I did not record an official victory, but at least one and maybe two actually occurred, so I'm headed in the right direction smile

As for the scoring, I don't get the sense that anyone is particularly worried about it. However, we should definitely recognize a couple of our fellow members for their particularly notable achievements.....

Lederhosen - HotShot Award, and Gold medals, for both his Entente and Central Powers pilots (Haggis McCrotch - 19 missions 12 victories, 12 successful missions, 450pts, and Hermann Der German - 25 missions, 11 victories, 11 successful missions, 430pts).

RAF28Jenks - Best Mission Reports EVER Award, and Silver medal for his Entente pilot (Capt. Desmond Harlowe - 12 missions, 6 victories, 8 successful missions, 250pts).

Overall this challenge felt too long to sustain peoples' interest, plus it was too one-sided, making it hard to be a Central Powers pilot. It was still fun, though. I'm taking a break for a while, but plan to come back at some point with another RiR challenge to feature the Albatros DII in late 1916.

Have fun all!
