There is a patch at MediaFire which includes the latest V160 exe

Download "LB3Patch.exe" and run it in the UAW150V4 folder.
It will replace some files in your "Little BoB V3" folder, and add the new exe to your "EAW Versions" folder.

Changes:

The space has been increased on the de-briefing screen so that more kills and other "events" are listed.
Previously the space limitation was set for the old 640x480 screens- this is one that CJ missed smile

The exe also has the pilot map display toggled, so you just need the one key.
In flight clicking "n" or "N" starts/stops engines 1 and 2. This was added for 'planes in SPAW45 such as the "SeaFang" which have counter rotating props so that both engines can start with a single click.
This is a re-use of a routine which was meant to run when you press "n" or "N" when you are flying. It related to aircraft trim, but as there were no other trim routines for it to work with it was remmed out back in 1.2, and has never been used in EAW.
I re-activated it and edited it so that it now starts/stops engines 1 and 2.

In Little BoB I have added a "convoys.dat" file so that the traditional style of EAW sea convoys can be generated. I have included a replacement "Interdict.mpf" file so that ship convoy interdictions are possible.
Additionally two Allied bases have been moved. One was too close to the EAW wall, and the other was on a very steep slope. Hence there is a replacement set of airfield, griddata, tardata and targets.dat files in the patch.

Jel, do you mean PRESSING the "n" KEY effects the engines?....The reason I ask is the n key is already set for the camera pan down.
Which is used to view the gauges, and other use for camera.

Thanks Mark. I found no use of "n" in any of my "ini" files because I use the mouse view as the camera.
I forced the exe to make a default "ini" and there it was.
The letters had been used early on in the making of EAW, but then discontinued. I will check and find another key or key combination smile

What about the original keys for 1 and 2?

Those keys were re-used as multiplayer exit.
What I have found is that SHIFT N does not appear to be used for anything so that might be the answer

Finally having re-checked the ini and the source code I came up with Alt-E which is easy to member as an engine start.
I also made it start/stop engines 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Just to clarify the start/stop function for contra-prop planes.

These planes are set up in the plane.dat file and the *.flt file as twin engine machines with counter rotating props. Then using 3DZ Studio two props are superimposed on the same axis to simulate contra-props.

It works fine but there are two limitations.

One is that the game sees the plane as having two engines so you can experience one destroyed yet still fly home. Not very realistic but it's only happened to me once so I think it's pretty rare.

The other limitation is that you need to start two engines. In the SPAW45 readme file I recommend that the player alter the .ini file so that engine 1 and 2 start with the same key.

Now that we have the code I made a request to Jel to find a way to start and stop both engines with some other key while keeping the normal function for regular twin engine planes.

I'd also like to find a way to get the game to recognize contra-prop planes as single engine for damage purposes but I fear that's a much more involved undertaking.

So in the end we'll just have the one minor "bodge" rather than two.

Oh and the reason for this coming up noe is that I'm about two weeks away from releasing "rarebird" and an "x-plane" inventories which include a number of contra-prop models.


Heck, even paranoids have enemies.

So the SHIFT [ and SHIFT ] keys are for multiplayer exit...what does that mean exactly?

I thought escape was used to exit a mission.
