You can use it to see the current base and target for each slot by clicking "Show Slot", or select a new base and target. when you click "Show Map" Editing is done "on the fly". The file that is edited is the "LastMission.msn" file in the selected slot folder in the "GameData" folder in each of the theatres used in 160. This file is read and used when you fly a single mission. A working file from one slot can be copied and pasted to another slot, which either does not have one, or has one which causes problems. This is particularly useful with small theatres with a reduced target set.

I am looking at the old MSN editor, with a view to getting it to use "tarnames.str", "airfield.dat" and targets.dat" instead of those 'tco", and "bco" files. The latest 160 file manager automatically makes a "planes.tco" file when you select a planeset, so one can be loaded from the current planeset folder.

OK we can decipher the mission date value and edit it: In the latest exe I have disabled the version check routine for the "*.msn" file. The CRC check had already gone, but I picked up on a version check line that remained. I have just about rewritten this editor, based on the source code. Several values in the "*.msn" files are not used, and others are over-written in other routines. In the screenie the mission year is 1941 but the setting in the "year" radio button (1940) over-rides it when you fly a single mission with the "*.msn" file loaded. However, the time and date are used I was able to make a completely new mission from scratch and it worked! The only settings I have not yet made editable are the interdiction type and size which replaced two previously unused values in the "*.msn" file.
