Hardware hasn't really even caught up to 4k! The 1080ti is coping quite well at 4K, but admittedly yes there's still a bit to go. 8K is 4x the resolution of 4K so that's going to be some time away......however I'm not convinced that a 32" monitor would ever need such a high resolution, I'd wager the screen is far too small to distinguish between 4k/8k anyway!

What's all the hubub about higher res anyway? I know that you'll get finer images and I've stood in front of HD and 4K TVs for enough time to appreciate the difference, but IME, even with these TVs, you'd need to stand REALLY CLOSE to see the difference. Color brightness and vibrancy between monitors/TVs would be much easier to "see" from a distance than 4K vs HD, so unless you're sitting really close to the TV, then a cheaper HD version may be enough. As for monitors, well, I prefer a more "surround" experience from 3 screens... the peripheral vision does wonders for situational awareness, so if modern GPUs can manage with 4K, I doubt they can do 3x 4K screens.

Today was new monitor day and I can say that a 32" in 2560x1440 is perfect and not much of a hit on performance. Sent back the 1080p I took a chance on.

.. 32" in 2560x1440 is perfect and not much of a hit on performance... Agree. I keep looking at my 32" 1440p and being satisfied. Really don't need Eyefinity anymore to enjoy a game as the 32" fills my field of view adequately -- 1440p eliminates pixelation (to my eyes).
