What's the issue with radios? 4 people, each one leading a flight of 2 or 4, won't be on the radios that much unless asking for help or just giving updates, so staying on the same TS3 channel should be okay. If you want to make it more complicated, separate TS3 channels should work or just use the IVC systems and have the flights on different Victor freqs and tune in on Uniform 13.

I was just poking fun at my radio ineptitude, which has been on display throughout this thread. Team Speak will be fine and thanks for the link. No reason not to use the SimHQ one right?

If you have a private TS3 channel, then we can use that, but if not, no problems with using the SimHQ one. biggrin

I have no such thing smile Just found out my son has been invited to go to an amusement park with a friend tomorrow, leaving me possibly free to put up a campaign server. If I can get my comms squared away I probably will. If I can get the extensions for my headset on the way home from work is there anyone who might be interested in testing later tonight like around 10 PM EDT? Where's my man Schnidrman? He disappeared these past few days.

Yes, apologies, but I have to wait until my mini-me is tucked in tonight. But if I put one up tomorrow it would be closer to 5 PM your time. Where in the UK are you? Are you same time zone as London? That's four hours difference I believe.

GMT time zone. I don't think the UK is big enough to warrant more than 1 time zone biggrin

I'm usually not cleared for flights at that time. Can't risk annoying the Flight Ops Officer, or else more sanctions might be brought down! biggrin

Understood, don't want to run afoul and find you're grounded.

Who has hosted BMS campaigns before? Anything I need to know about doing so -- firewall, ports, bandwidth settings, that sort of thing\? Any tips or things to watch for appreciated.

I have... but as I said, it was 4.32. There are enough changes in 4.33 that I think my previous experience no longer counts. I'm sure there's a section about this in the manual, but I've not yet gotten to that part. frown I have only flown MP 2-3 times in 4.33 when it was first released and I wasn't hosting.

Thanks again mate. Yes, I read the manual, and opened the ports, I think. Got TS3 installed and I'm on the SimHQ server to test. Got the mic set up but need to know if the volume is good for others. I think I'm ready to roll. All of the obstacles have been overcome. I will probably put up a server a little later and spend some time fragging flights and going completely overboard so that our campaign gets off to a winning start. Gotta get the squirt to bed in a bit but Ice if you're still around and can jump onto the TS server to test that would be great.

Ooops gotta run

Completely lost track of time managing campaign/flying a mission.

I set up the radio switch-forward to be my PTT button in the TS3 program. Is it possible to have a conflict in the keyfile? I'll need to check that.

How would you guys feel about flying in the Balkans instead? There are a couple of reasons I want to change it. First, that's where I am flying offline, and this way I would not have to keep switching theaters. Secondly, Under Siege is a great campaign for our first one. If we fly Block 50s out of Casale, it is a very short hop to the action. Long missions are fun, but quick missions allow more to be flown, and less waiting if someone gets shot down. Plus, we can add a campaign win to the logbook fairly quickly, assuming we win smile

If you don't already have it, check the link

https://www.bmsforum.org/forum/showthread.php?23469-Balkans-Theater-of-Operation-for-BMS-4-33-U3

It's a gig and a half and is a full installer, though previous versions may need to be removed? Check the docs if you already have a previous version installed.

There are Block 50s at Casale, Block 40s at Aviano (way too far IMO) and Dutch MLUs at Amendola. My plan is to be on SimHQ teamspeak around 12 EDT today, but I might be in the room but away from the PC at any given moment. If anyone feels they can make it please post so I know. I'll give you the IP over comms. You'll need to have loaded this U3 Balkans theater and be running 64-bit version. Set your bandwidth to 1024 and I can host up to four without a problem I would think.

I have a concern about volume levels. BMS has no master volume, so how do you guys handle it? I want to be sure human comms stand out and don't get lost in the chatter.

Only thing is I have a bit short hours available this evening due to kids but it could be Worth a try at least.

On SimHQ TS connecting to DBond.
Ports etc open and same version/theater/exe.
Couldn't come up with other things to test but we tried connecting to me and that worked fine for both clients.

Standard Falcon troubles though, should be solved after a few fights smile

We checked this https://www.falcon-lounge.com/falcon-bms-essentials/guides/
