In respect to the day, the wife and I went to the military museum in Kissimmee, Florida. Small museum but very nicely done. You can really get up to the exhibits. Nice staff. Had the mother of Robert Miller who received the MOH for his actions in Afghanistan there talking about him.

If you are ever in central Florida around Orlando and Disneyworld, it is well worth the visit.

Couple of iPhone pictures.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Thanks for sharing the pictures OG, looks like an interesting place to visit.

Pic no.5, top left rifle, a Rifle No4 Lee Enfield, can't tell if it is a Mk1 or Mk2 though, but it's the same rifle as I used to shoot, a fine bit of kit smile

Did they get someone to carry their cojones around when they weren't crawling into holes?

Yes, as rwatson said; tunnel rat. Around the corner they have a soldier coming out the other end.

Thanks for the story OG, never knew that was in Kissimmee.

And yes, if you want to know the definition of humble, read the citations of these folks.

Nice pics, oldgrognard. Thanks. I also didn't know such a place existed in Kissimmee.

I love it when hanging from a ceiling is a bunch of meticulously detailed models. My barber shop in Jax, FL was like this, as is a large hobby shop in Baton Rouge.

++++++++++

I'll be spending the day of April 20th at the Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum, then two days later watching the Blue Angels perform in New Orleans. If there's time and budget, also the New Orleans WWII Museum (formerly known as the D-Day Museum). I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself! biggrin

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run
